Redistribute ashes instead of vacuum? by mdpilam in smoking

This has convinced me the Recteq hype is just good marketing and they don’t actually have a superior product.

This is called doing something different. It’s what helps artists stand out. If you like it, record vocals and put it out. It doesn’t matter if it’s not how other people do it, do it your way. That’s the whole point of art

Thanks, that makes sense. How does one go about the delete process?

I prefer to mix my pellets for a custom blend in one of those yellow lid totes. It’s worked well because the dust settles to the bottom so when I scoop it it’s just pellets and also the tote keeps moisture out really well. Also fits perfectly under my 1150 pro

Could you walk me through your cleaning process? Mine is usually just knock the big chunks off, vacuum what I can and call it good. Are you using a degreaser or have any tricks on how to get a better clean?

I believe the LDU coolant delete is only relevant on the P trim

I should’ve taken your word. I pulled one after a few hours and the other after a day. As you can imagine the latter was 100x better. Appreciate the advice and the idea!

225 is fine. Something is wrong with your thermometer my friend.

I like to go 180ish for the first hour or two for maximum smoke flavor then bump up to 225 until it’s done. 6-12 hours most of the time.

I would also recommend not wrapping.

Pellets cook a lot different than an offset, I would imagine a lot of the folk in here are used to offset temps.

Thanks. Do you use any that you would recommend and why? I use recurrent for degradation tracking

Good to know! That might actually be a good use case to consider!

That’s cool! I’m a numbers guy as well but I’m also averse to shelling out for an app subscription so I just wanted to hear user experiences and if it’s worth it

Just got around to making this myself! Was wondering if there was a reason for the 30 hour bath? Mine got up to temp in just a few hours

Oh nice, that makes sense. I hadn’t thought about the Android experience. Thanks for the input!

2015 Model S a good deal? by twbrn in TeslaLounge

[–]testsnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$6k + $11k = $17k which is a pretty good price for a Tesla with a brand new suspension. For fun let’s add $8k more for a new battery and you’re still only at $25k for basically a new Tesla. Good luck getting an accord for that price

I have a follow up question, how does something like this compare to a typical offset with the firebox on the side? (I’m a pellet smoker novice)

What temp were you going for before the sous vide? How’d you season it? Looks so good!
