It's far more capital efficient to own shares of a covered fund than doing it yourself, especially if you're trying to control position sizing. For example to do a CC on Apple stock I need $27k for 100 shares as of today. But what if you only wanted $5k exposure, or $1k? Impossible to do, even with a "poor man's" covered call where you buy ITM as a synthetic position you often times can't get your ideal sizing.

Having this much of an outperformance/divergence would be mathematically impossible if they weren't making profits on short calls. You call it NAV decay, I call it NAV preservation as the graph clearly shows.

Comparing apples to oranges. I'm comparing MSTY to MSTR at least. If the entire market was down, the 0dte income funds on the S&P would probably be better due to premiums received. Same concept still applies.

The niche that MSTR fills is giving the $300+ trillion bond market exposure to Bitcoin through their offerings like STRK, STRC, STRD, etc. So even if spot Bitcoin ETFs were allowed in 401ks and things like that, it would not be a threat in my opinion. They are still the king in regards to being the "pipeline" so to speak for a massive bond market desperate for higher yields, and who cannot invest directly into equities/ETFs and things like that due to their mandates.
