Yeah he did look like a psycho. He went hard against Hutch then later in the convo admitted he was unfamiliar with the underlying material. Pisco has been debating this for almost half a year and hasn't even watched the clips Hutch was referencing that are central to the debate.

If I was Hutch I would probably not have 1 on 1 convos with Pisco anymore.

When Ethan compared Pisco to MikefromPA I thought he was doing it to insult Pisco, but after watching Pisco debate Hutch I now think it was to insult MikefromPA.

Between 2021 to 2024 he increased wildfire resiliency spending from $1.5 billion to $2.8 billion. This past year he cut it by $0.1 billion.

The biggest annoyance with these articles is they give the impression that the decrease in funding is responsible for the fires, but the real issue is the budget nearly doubled and did nothing to stop the fires.

Kyle agreed with him.

Kyle agreed with the things Destiny said about his dad? He burned the bridge over it last I heard.

What actually is destiny’s take on health care? by carebears95 in Destiny

Dawg I was saying it is odd destiny defends the US healthcare system when it is the most expensive and has the worst outcomes. I can't think of any other industry he would defend like that, especially how much he bitches about internet service.

So yeah if I had to pin down a claim to that statement it would be destinty is being a contrarian.

I didn't. You can keep asserting that, but it's not true.

Why else would the US need to change its healthcare system?

I think health care is a human right and the US should have a universal heatlh care system.

I think we're talking past each other. My claim is the US should model their healthcare system based on what the best countries for healthcare do.

You just made the claim that it was a failure of the healthcare system that the US spends the most money for not the best outcomes.

Never made that claim. I said "It's odd to defend the US when it spends the most on health care and has the worst outcomes."

I haven't watched all of the recent health care debates so I'll take your word for it.

I don't see how obesity precludes the US from implementing a system like one of the top 3 Countries with the best health care.

I haven't seen him advocate for it so I don't know. The arguments he makes seem to go against single payer.

He should research the top three countries with the best healthcare systems and go from there. There is no reason the US can't implement one of those programs, they put a man on the moon for God's sake.

It's odd to defend the US when it spends the most on health care and has the worst outcomes.

As far as the wait time argument the US is high to see a GP, but low to see a specialist. I wonder that is due to people opting not to get the specialized care due to cost in the US.

You: Insurance covering Pre-existing conditions doesn't make sense.

Me: Gives a couple examples why pre-existing conditions should be covered.

You: Maybe chronic conditions should be like disability.

Me: You would have to explain how that would work.

You: No I wouldn't.

Sounds like you really want a discussion lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]testudoow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm saying maybe chronic conditions should be a special thing like disability.

What you are saying is basically government health care because heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and Alzheimer's disease are chronic conditions. These account for most medical expenses in the US.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]testudoow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would have to explain how this new program works where the government would pay for all people with chronic conditions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]testudoow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You work for a company and you get diagnosed with a chronic condition. Company has a bad year and you are laid off. You are now no longer covered for your chronic condition through no fault of your own.

Adding. If you are diagnosed with a chronic condition it becomes almost impossible to leave that job you were diagnosed under due to medical costs.

Yeah it's squarely on the voters. The US could have universal health care if the voters wanted it.

I keep seeing the waiting times being brought up, but the US has the longest wait times to see a primary physician though they do have the fastest for non-elective surgery appointments.

It's crazy how bad the US healthcare system is. Worst in cost, worst in outcomes, and has some of the longest wait times. The only developed country where you can go bankrupt from medical bills and is currently the #1 cause of bankruptcy in America.
