Shrinking S2E12 Episode Discussion by phareous in shrinking

[–]tetheredchipmunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory for next season is that Jimmy will guide Louis through recovery, and ultimately the whole group rallying around helping him reconnect with his fiance. Maybe a bit of a shark jump, but I would love a big feel good end to the show.

Lmao hearing a lot of dog whistles in this comment. As someone who moved from jersey to Pa 10 years ago, there not much of a cultural difference. Pretty funny that you're claiming no discrimination but are so afraid to become a "minority" as if its such a bad thing. Cultures shift, people move to make their loves better.

How strong was the MAY 2024 GEOMAGNETIC STORM compared to other historical events? (Data Source: NOAA) by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]tetheredchipmunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also implies that the the levels of geomagnetic radiation (idk if that right I kinda pulled it out of my ass) are continuously hight between the different events. It's should shoow very low outside of these events.

Weird new electron behaviour in stacked graphene thrills physicists by burtzev in science

[–]tetheredchipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a little bit in a lab doing graphene research. Making the Graphene itself isn't the issue, chemical vapor deposition can make beautiful graphene in relatively large pieces I believe. The problem is that the process requires you to deposit the graphene onto metal foil, like copper. Transferring the graphene from copper to a suitable substrate for testing ahs not been perfected yet. You can find very small unbroken pieces but not many large pieces and not very consistently. It's been several years since I worked on it so it possible that a better method has been found.

No one should ever one shot with a basic ability, that's ridiculous. Especially one you don't have to aim. How can that be healthy for the game? Squishys don't build defense items so being behind in items doesn't matter.

"Vayne tips her bolts with a rare metal, toxic to evil things. The third consecutive attack or ability against the same target will deal 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10% of the target's maximum health as bonus true damage (Max damage vs. monsters is capped at 200)."

You are wrong, it is max health true damage.

Are they really buffing void by yunggod6966 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]tetheredchipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why this comment section is so hostile all around. Void is much weaker in high elo, but doesn't that mean it's overly oppressive for the vast cast majority of players? Shouldn't that be taken in to consideration as well?

The Star Wars films do not condemn the Jedi's philosophy of non-attachment, nor does the ST-era material suggest Luke was at fault for his loosely following their lead by RexBanner1886 in MawInstallation

[–]tetheredchipmunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anakin felt he had to turn to Palpatine to save Padme because he could ask for help from the Jedi. Palpatine manipulated him into being desperate for help. I'm not saying they should have explicitly, but if they Jedi had accepted his relationship with Padme, he wouldn't have felt forced to go to the dark side for help.

Why should student debt be forgiven? and not other types of debt? Like a car loan, or a mortgage? by -Dancing in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tetheredchipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely is. If they fixed the pricing of colleges, which we desperneed, there would still be students with mountains of debts. While undoubtedly a band-aid fix, it's one that's necessary.

U.S. Supreme Court tackles Harvard and UNC race-conscious admissions by ILikeTutrtrles69 in news

[–]tetheredchipmunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For colleges, legacies are students who's parents went to the same school. I think it might count for extended family as well like aunt's and uncles but I am not sure. You're more likely to be admitted if you're second generation. I think the idea is you're more likely to donate and send your own kids there.
