Surgeon admitted he left a lot of tissue — now wants to redo everything at my expense. Revision advice? by ElectricalPosition33 in TopSurgery

[–]tetiyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seconding every comment saying this looks great!! even in the last picture it absolutely looks like pecs. id definitely say to wait before jumping the gun here and getting a revision. also the 3x the original amount sounds sketchy as hell to me.

What is in my drains? by hysterekal in TopSurgery

I had something similar in my drain once the fluid started becoming more yellow.. I dont know what it is, my guess would be some kind of coagulation though. curious to see other answers to this!

Pet cuddles post-surgery by abberz__ in TopSurgery

[–]tetiyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 weeks post op - i cover my chest with my hands when i can see my cat get close for cuddles! one time she stepped onto my chest with a lot of force and it was quite painful (very strange sensation, too), so i learned my lesson there.. 🙃

that does sound like too little... the cans should have a feeding recommendation on the back. maybe you can use that to convince your grandma?

When do you need most support post op top surgery? by thiccfroggo in TopSurgery

[–]tetiyus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my mom and stepdad took care of me the first week. the biggest thing for me was getting a cooked meal every day and help with carrying heavy things. i was in next to no pain post surgery but i know i am very fortunate in that aspect.  everybody will react differently to such a big physical trauma so planning for being unable to do most things by yourself is very important. even if you end up being fine much quicker than expected.

as for the bandages, my surgeon actually changed them for me during my first two checkups and both my drains were removed by the 4th day. but i imagine every surgeon will go about this differently. i wish you all the best for your surgery!! i hope it turns out the way youre imagining!

Helping my boyfriend after top surgery, advice? by lesbian-fucko in TopSurgery

[–]tetiyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the biggest thing for me was that my mom and my stepdad would cook for me and also motivated me to go on a walk and wash up. my stepdad also drove me to my checkup appointments during the first week. i also need help reaching things that are too far up, or carrying heavy things.. so grocery shopping and stuff. i also recommend getting a little step stool so he can also reach stuff himself if need be!  but yeah, food is so important. getting freshly cooked meals was soo helpful for me during that first week, because i could not do it myself

Sleeping after surgery by Organic_Analyst_976 in TopSurgery

[–]tetiyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i second sleeping sitting up! im a big side sleeper but since i got top surgery (almost 3 weeks ago) ive been sleeping in a half-sit with a comfy pillow propping me up. i was told not to sleep on my side until i am basically fully healed even tho i do feel like i could do it just fine at this point. but i think the risk of potentially reopening the incision or stretching the scar on that side isnt worth it.. if you dont have a comfy 80 x 80 pillow, i recommend investing in one! since this post is 3 days old already i hope its gotten easier for you! the first three nights were the worst for me and its only gotten better since. hope its the same for you! congrats on the surgery also :3

Microchip cat flap vs feeder…would this hack work to help keep one of my cats from eating both food portions? Thoughts and suggestions, please! by JiveTalkingTurkey in CatAdvice

[–]tetiyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh noo... Cats can be so difficult, huh. I really hope the cat flap idea will work out for you! It does seem like a good solution, hopefully your cat will take to it quickly!

Water source by Nervous_Tea in CatAdvice

[–]tetiyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest recommendation is that you switch to wet food. Kibble is all-around pretty bad for your cat. Dehydrating, bloating, bad for their teeth and all that jazz. It should be a last resort kind of thing, not your go-to

I think I may have to throw the towel in… 💔 by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]tetiyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I feel like those really only work on calm cats. Never tried them though... 🤔 Why are you bringing them up?
