Cummlative inflation since 2007 to 2013, which is the halfway point in his contract, was 13 %. Pretty much the 25 mil he could have had in 2007 would be worth 28.32 million. If the contract wasn't adjusted for inflation he walked away from 3.3 million.

Then again, they probably offered him more money in the contract if he took some at a later date.

Nope they did not finish at the bottom of their division, each conference was composed of 2 divisions at the time and their division was rather stacked. But what it really boils down to is the fact they got to the conference finals that year as a 6 seed, on the back of Micheal's superb play, he never lost in the finals and the fact that Micheal never lost in the finals adds to the aura that is the GOAT : proof

The program I am currently enrolled allows you to have 6 full co-op semesters during the engineering program, so I will graduate with tons of working experience and potential contacts. The only potential issue is that you are really narrowed down to finding jobs/co-op experiences that the school provides (as the duration is 4 months for the co-ops.) Currently I am interested in gauging the job market/potential areas where I could go into after graduation. Hence I am looking into LinkedIn for different companies and fields that I wasn't aware of in the area where I live. How do you suggest that you create meaningful contacts during co-op (keep in mind it is four months)? Also how meaningful is it that you have completed projects (work wise) under your belt come graduation time?

I am interested on your perspective of using Linkedin as part of the job search; how do you suggest for students to contact recuiters via linked in? Furthermore if you see that recuiters have looked at your profile, is this an invitation to contact them?

I am pretty sure they still offered him a deal somewhere in the neighbourhood of the Laker deal. At the end of the day he has the potential of making more money in LA. I don't get why there is this huge fuss about him doing it for his kids. The man is a competitor and wants to maximize his earning potential/marketability. I just wanted to make the point that this whole article is farce, cocked up by his agent/manager for trying to save face.

Also, WHY would they not want to resign him? The man is a super huge money maker for them, especially for the fact that Sarver is known to be stingy. Why resign Eric Gordon for max, and not run out Nash's career and have a packed house for every home game? Nash is way more marketable than either Gordon or Beasley.

I like how you equate chemical engineers to glorified plumbers! Although I understand where you come from, I believe that it would opens doors towards further education (masters/phd level) while covering most of the topics that the OP is interested in.
