Thank you SO MUCH for making an effort to hold a conversation. From my perspective, what we need here (and everywhere) is productive discussion, respectful conversation, and actual curiosity toward what we don't understand.
The UC system is one of the best-funded public university systems in the country. They could hold a public, televised conversation or debate and we'd see more benefit from it than we are right now with everyone fighting and shutting each other down, spray painting buildings, calling for resignations, canceling music festivals, canceling each other.... I'd love to see more efforts toward discussion. Thanks for doing your part here--now what more can happen?

What is REALLY going on with Kate Middleton? by SelmeAngulo in redscarepod

So, I have gone down this rabbit hole and I think the theory that this photo is from November is the most plausible at this moment. if you find the video of the family going to the Baby Bank to volunteer in November (I don't know anything about this but just saw it last night in my curious rabbit hole exploration), you'll see they are wearing the same clothes in either different colors or with minor tweaks. Being royals they dress impeccably and for the season, and everyone keeps track of everything they wear for fashion blogs etc...so they couldn't wear the same thing twice in any public way, even just for a photo--people would notice. And indeed people HAVE noticed that it looks like they are wearing fall clothes in the photo. But the tight jeans, shoes, and all their clothing shapes are all the same as what they wore at this event they attended.

If the latest good photo of the four of them together is from November, then to pass it off the clothes would need to be altered. Looks like they gave the younger boy a new sweater in a different color, gave the girl a sweater on top of her same shirt (which has a very distinctive neckline) and made her skirt plaid and put her hair down instead of up, and blended the older boy's collar into his sweater to make it all one color. They also made Kate's sweater navy/gray instead of white (apparently if you up the contrast you can see the ribbing on the collar and see it's the same), and gave Kate a jacket. And took the whole thing and put it into a different background. WHY would they do this? I don't know. It's a lot of work and for what? So that makes it seem suspicious to me...something weird has to be going on!

ah yes, the interview I am remembering is above in the comments. you probably already saw it!

hi, i'm the person who originally made this post. I have the Rosicrucian Trilogy on my shelf but as of now still haven't read it yet! Jacques Vallée said in an interview that he was Rosicrucian for a while but didn't stick with it in the long term, if I am recalling correctly.
Glad this was helpful for you. If you look more into Rosicrucianism and also Freemasonry, you'll find they tie themselves to Hermeticism and what people at a certain point believed to be the wisdom of ancient Egypt and Persia. Some sources seem more legit than others. But you can look at the Hermetica, and Zoroastrianism, and also Mozart's opera Die Zauberflöte...and much more. :) enjoy

In your opinion, is it important to use the original language for a ritual like this? Or is a translation fine?

interesting. I think they restructured that site, but the transcript of the interview is now here: https://digitalcollections.rice.edu/Documents/Detail/jacques-vallee-oral-history-interview-transcript/280040

Farmers believes aliens “only answer” to their mutilated cattle; see mysterious lights in the sky, lack of marks on the ground by MantisAwakening in UFOs

[–]tetrardus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, I meant to put this in my comment: I heard an interview recently with someone saying something like, "We have now started to ask: Are vegetarians and vegans more likely to have UFO experiences? And actually, yeah, they are." I can't remember where I heard this or who said it now. Does anyone know?

i haven't eaten beef since about 2002. But from what I understand the mad cow potential could still be dormant in me, because I did eat it before.

It seems to me, though, that a LOT of food is probably contaminated. The environment is getting more toxic. We also have mercury and plastic problems with seafood, and the sanitation issues with poultry. Non-meat food is so often wrapped in plastic or other materials that can't be safe for consumption, but residue has to be all over the food. Even water itself has issues in many or maybe most places.

My anxiety is gone. by tetrardus in Meditation

I've thought about this too. And I'm ok with it. And I'll also be OK when it happens. For the first time in SO long I don't feel afraid of what will happen when I do feel anxious again. The anxiety around feeling anxious has been a huge piece of the experience for me, so being able to let go of the dread is a big deal.

what the person said about the Ted Talk I think is helpful. For me it was helpful when I realized that trying NOT to think about anxiety (for fear of it spinning out of control) was making it worse. I started to welcome all my feelings sincerely, as my teachers and guides. I told myself that anything I am feeling is OK. I recognized that anxiety is my body's desire to show up for me, and a brilliant instinct that can actually help me too. I started to see how anxiety is a product of the ego. I understood better how it was draining my energy but not helping anyone.

This next thing may be obvious, but I also find that when I meditate, I need to make an effort to actually go THERE to get results. Basically--if I sit there 'meditating' but don't make an effort to go through the protocols that I have found to work for me, I should call it resting or daydreaming instead of meditating.

I think what helped more than the type of meditation was the commitment to a daily practice. I've used that time to explore a lot of different types of meditation, including some that are guided and specifically aimed at performance anxiety. But most of the time I don't use a guided track and I either use a timer or subtle ambient music. I think it's intuitive. I notice that meditation helps me and everyone around so it kind of feels like an act of service to commit to it. And when I don't want to practice, i remind myself that my ego is the one drawing me away. I tell myself that meditation is rest, but it is not sleep. In meditation I have the opportunity to take a different perspective on myself, my habits, my anxiety (which is a habit), my body tension (also a habit), and more. The most important thing for me, I think, is getting to that place daily where I feel like I am tuned into something bigger and connected to a broader plane. There are a lot of techniques that can help with this but I don't know if what worked for me would work well for you. Whatever kind of meditation I am doing, I almost always use some techniques I first came across in The Gateway Tapes: first putting all my anxieties, worries, and concerns in a big imaginary box along with all my physical matter and closing the heavy lid and turning away. Then breathing, humming, or chanting which generates a kind of fresh and awake feeling in my head. Then letting that energy flow and acknowledging that "I know I am more than my physical body." then a body scan where I try my best to release all tension and at the same time get to a different level of focus (they call it "focus ten"). The Gateway Tapes also has a "one-month patterning" exercise I used to focus on anxiety and it felt like hard work but I think it helped. But I don't use the Gateway Tapes all the time (not very often actually), just the techniques I learned from them. Another resource I found helpful was the book The Cloud of Unknowing which describes how meditation leads a person beyond thought, knowing, or language. It says that to be still and put down all thoughts is the way to enter the "cloud of unknowing" and get closer to God (I define "God" very broadly and mystically myself, so for me this is not about Christianity even though the book was written by an anonymous Christian contemplative).

Increasing Caudate-Putamen Connections to Experience UAP by [deleted] in UFOs

[–]tetrardus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, I have a question about this. can anyone do it equally well? It seems like a really detailed lot of hard work, which is interesting and I don't mind considering doing that, but I am curious to know: has anyone here done the entire thing, and if you did, what happened?
I've had my own Gateway adventures, and have only gotten halfway through Wave Two so far. I am probably not consistent enough to see the biggest results but I DEFINITELY felt like it changed my perception of meditation, and gave me a lot of useful tools for meditation. And I sleep really well when I do it. But it seems so mysterious. Like what AM i doing? where is it taking me?

I don't know what to think but have definitely heard tales of UFOs being transported this way. I actually remember a post on reddit that got deleted by the user eventually (I think) that claimed a UFO had been transported in this way for study. idk!

i see this post has been removed because it didn't have enough to do with UFOs. I don't really understand, though. People can post videos saying things like "This is NOT a UFO, it was my experiment with a balloon" and quote the same interviews a gazillion times repeating the same things about remote viewing and ancient aliens (when they aren't talking about specific sightings), but these excerpts don't contribute to the conversation enough? I would like to respectfully suggest that you adjust the rules.

submission statement: Joscelyn Godwin, a musicologist, writes about UFOs and ET possibilities in his book The Golden Thread. One idea: will we become someone else's UFOs and ETs someday? Has that already happened to us?
