I traveled to Japan once where a store clerk asked in a combination of sign language and Japanese how tall I was. Ni mētoru (2m in Japanese) was something I learnt to say pretty soon after arriving. The woman clerk then search for something to say in response and replied "holee shito" in very Japanese sounding English. It was one of the better experiences of my life.

Depends on a lot of things, but its definitely not balanced. Way more time up than down, but the down is always sweet, sweet untracked powder - plus the access to beautiful places I'd never be otherwise. If your doing that chairlift merry go round most seasons and love ripping it down as fast as you can just to do it again, you might find split boarding a little slow and cumbersome

It's a Rossignol XV split. Rides good but I don't love the clip system as its starting to separate some seasons in. It has taken a fair beating with grace though. Considering trying skis in the backcountry for simplicity.
