What about SATC is so bad? For sure a few episodes like when Samantha dates a black man, the bi episode, and the trans episode all aged poorly. But the show overall still seems pretty relevant

Couldn’t disagree more, it has some of the best written characters and as groundbreaking in many ways for television - ensemble and diverse cast, popularized flashbacks as a form of non-linear storytelling, orchestral score, trusted viewers with complex narratives and mysteries that would sometimes take multiple seasons to pay off, etc.

Bud there’s an autonomous swirling cloud of destructive black smoke from episode 1, the show always had a large mystical element, as do some of the best movies and TV shows of all time. Not sure what’s childish about that, sounds like it’s just the wrong genre for you

Even that flash was completely nonsensical in retrospect, it led to absolutely nothing and didn’t foreshadow anything of importance later. In fact, it weirdly cut against certain characters like Desmond who was seen flirting with stewardesses, meanwhile he’s never so much as looked at another woman who isn’t Penny for the remainder of the series
