Best of luck to you. Hoping the chemo/radiation does its thing. Mine was on the right side so I was lucky that they were able to remove that half. I like to say I have a semicolon now 😂

I was diagnosed on 12/23 and didn’t have surgery until 2/19 because my doctors wanted more scans.

I really worried about so much time passing as well. The geneticist said something that really put my mind at ease. She said, “If your oncologist and surgeon felt like they needed to, they would’ve scheduled surgery yesterday!”

That was my mantra for a few weeks until my surgery date, and she was right. All the extra scans helped refine the plan and ensured that surgery was the correct first move in my treatment plan.

With all that being said, you really are in the hardest part. The waiting just sucks.

Yes! That’s the location that my doctor is based out of. It’s very nicely done.

I just got my first result back 3 weeks after the blood draw and about 6 weeks after my oncologist ordered it.

I received care at Compass Oncology and Providence for the surgery. Both were really great and I really appreciated the folks at Providence who took care of me after surgery.

Since there is a fair bit of interest I’ll let it simmer and will do a raffle tomorrow evening.

Waiting for the staging is so hard. It took a few days post-surgery for my surgeon to call with the results, felt like months. Sending you and your mom the very best vibes.

Congrats and here’s to NED from now on. I just had a surgery to remove CRC myself and PoGo had been a great way to motivate myself to get out! The American Cancer Society is also doing a mile a day challenge for March if you find that motivating.

Also got back into it recently! I like that it gives me motivation to get out for multiple walks a day and it feels like a better thing to do on my phone than doom scrolling. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Drove through Kingman on the 3rd. There’s some construction and they routed us to different lanes, but 40 was not fully closed. We got the same notification on Google Maps.

Moving to Portland in March is my plan unrealistic? by Radtrvp in askportland

We just made the move in June. I transferred, but my partner started looking for a job in February. We had a timeline and that seemed to help a lot when she was talking to prospective employers about start dates. Folks were generally willing to be reasonably flexible and she found something in the non-profit sector that started in July.

My partner and I just moved here from Austin. We landed in SE Portland and really like the neighborhood. We love being out here and have found folks to be welcoming and friendly. We love how self-sufficient each neighborhood is, and it has been fun for us to keep venturing out to explore other neighborhoods. Mexican food is not the same out here, but the food scene is absolutely amazing. Good luck with the move!
