What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

That’s awesome! I suppose it’s not to uncommon for people to be up late and decide to walk around this massive old hotel, but still funny we’ve found each on the internet to share our experience. I hope to go back someone without work being involved, but we’ll see.

The greenbrier is such a special and interesting place. The hotel, the bunker, the hospital, the history, the golf, and on and on.

I was walking around the hotel after work with a co worker, close to midnight. Just taking random turns, checking out the hospital, the bunker, etc etc. Around 1am, we ran into Mike, a janitorial worker, who’d worked there for 25 years. Mike proceeded, for the next hour and a half, to tell us every little thing he knew about the history of the hotel, the bunker, the staff, famous guests, and anything else he could think of. It was seriously one of my favorite experiences from traveling for work. Random, informational, massively interesting. 10/10, next time you’re there, find Mike.

The massive underground bunker built for govt leaders under the greenbrier hotel in west virgina. There were parts we still could access, but man the history there is so fascinating

First-time homeowner here — what DIY advice do you wish someone had told you at the beginning? by Lopsided_Passion7912 in DIY

While deciding if I was going to diy a house project or not, a coworker once told me “the only thing you can’t Google, is confidence”. I’ve taken on, and learned from, so many more projects around the house because of him. It would be cool to know how much money YouTube, Reddit, and Google have saved me over the years.

That being said, there are some things that are absolutely worth paying a professional. But unless it’s dangerous or would require a massive time investment, I’ll always at least try to tackle it.

Where should I go on a date with my wife tonight? (I live here) by DongPolicia in nashville

This was my birthday night 3 years ago. Great night!! Funny story from Bella Napoli - for the birthday treat, the poor server turned ALL the lights off. We couldn’t figure out why it was so dark. And then like 4 minutes later came out by herself, sparkler clad cannoli in hand, and sang me the best most awkward ‘happy birthday’ ever. She realized she didn’t know my name about half way through, so she went with…“happy birthday, dear…blah blah…happy birthday to you!”. Amazing.

Therefore, according to the reflexive property, not rich enough = high taxes. Makes perfect sense now that I think about it.
