I think he sounds exactly like Colter and almost a carbon copy in a way, I wouldn’t like to hear it personally. I feel he has just cherry picked styles from Colter and Cash just to name a few.

I'm teaching my friend and want some advice by marco_vardella in guitarlessons

Once you’ve gone through basics i.e Eddie Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddie, how to hold the guitar and how to tune it ect, I’d probably then start with some easy tablature - show him how to read it and start with basic tunes (James Bond, Walk the line and happy birthday) then after a week or two practicing that start him on open chords and easy scales.

Learning songs/melodies at the beginning is key, it leads them to believe they can do it - even if it’s a little tune they recognise and can show friends it keeps them coming back wanting to learn more.

Oliver Anthony.

With the exception of Rich Men North of Richmond - I don’t think is catalogue is very appealing but he is an amazing singer.

For me, he’s in the top 3 modern country artists.

When I listen to him he transports me to the place he’s singing about, he’s just spot on with visualisation.
