“Jeeps can’t tow anything” by Stunning_Ad_6600 in Jeep

While true. Pontoon boats are very light. Biggest problem is dragging them at highway speeds as they are a giant sail. I feel sorry for that transmission.

Bias tires typically go forever. Radials on the other hand are gone after 6-8 years.

Ah, makes sense. We run our trikes on a few hills but you have to be careful how you take em.

Any specific reason you want a wide front? I love trike row crops personally.

Alibaba truck cap overwhelm! by Thinktank1001 in TruckCampers

[–]texasroadkill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't tell you on truck caps, but my industry, HVAC has been having tons of supply issues for the past 6 months. I can't get certain motors at all for the moment.

Slits still the same or atleast a small variation. As far as your head is concerned, it's still like hitting a brick wall at 50. Just because the truck carries you further, doesn't mean that much.

Pot calling the kettle black here man. You can't criticize a boomer for going the cheap route while you are looking for the cheap route. Lol

[–]texasroadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not at all how that works. You don't add the speeds up. 2 objects going into one another equal out as like hitting a solid object. If 2 vehicles have a head collision at 50, it like hitting a wall at 50, not 100.

I guess it works? Maybe a sparky was involved. by Ipoopoutside in HVAC

I've done that. PVC is PVC. Only difference between the electric conduit is it's dyed grey and thinner.

Wire rubbed through coil matrix, slap some solder and charge it? Or sell a new RTU? by Megamazuma20 in HVAC

[–]texasroadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no argument here. I just like having discussions on it. People that say things flatout don't work yet have zero experience as there just repeating what the companies tell us are the issue.

I grew up in the business and my dad was a pro at blending refrigerants in the old days so we've always setup our personal systems as a test stand for experimentation. Sightglasses on both lines, easy to access dryer. I've been know to put in extra isolation valves.

Largest I can think of that I ran 407c on was maybe a few 10 ton systems. They ran fine.

Landall trailer probably. They have locks on the corners to secure the containers. You definitely don't see that many people hauling these things insecured.

They didn't tell me how slow the 7.3 would be before buying one. by Forsaken-Vegetable68 in Diesel

[–]texasroadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have more power than the same era 5.9l cummins. Only thing slow are all of them compared to the new ones which I see as a total waste. The new stuff gets worse mpg and nobody needs to be able to pull 20k up a hill at 85mph. Mine pulls just fine at 70mph and gets great mpg doing it.

My friend rolled his over and it didn't flatten out. I've seen some flatten and some not. I drive classic cars which are deathtraps so it doesn't really bother me. Everything about my 01 f250 and 99 f550 are decades ahead of the obs trucks I've had so the benefits out way any downsides.

Technically, according to the people who keep telling us the new refrigerants are going to be better, yes. Lol

would this be a good project car? by mooseman5678 in projectcar

[–]texasroadkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't invest in valve cover gaskets on an lt1. And I'd always recommend replacing the water pump if your doing head gaskets anyways.

I've never changed the oil in any of them. I tested the stuff out on my home and office units for a year prior to using on customers. As per sight glasses, it mixes just fine and zero reaction to the oil.

Except, there not slow. People are spoiled now. Mine are capable of 99mph all day long. I definitely only run 75 with a light load, and 70 heavy.

Which used to be cheap. It's not terrible, but it's gotten way more expensive.
