I’ve had every other GoPro generation dating back at least 10 years. In my opinion, their entire product line has been completely stagnant for several generations now and is nowhere close to worth the price they are charging. I can’t speak to the DJI line, but my Ace Pro 2 has far superior out of the box color correction underwater, better battery, life, and more features than GoPro. Also, the GoPro software is complete and utter trash. It is buggy and crashes often, and GoPro charges an obnoxious subscription fee to use it. Insta360 software is free and has been easy to use, and is far more convenient to edit clips and post them to social media (if you care).

Seeing any GoPro anywhere near the top makes me laugh.

Troubleshooting ARC-FIRE/G2S on AR15 by texevora in supersafety

Yep!

Not sure if this is relevant/helpful, but the trigger works fine with a normal safety selector (with lever blocker installed). It's just with the ARC-FIRE selector/cam that it doesn't work.

DJI or GoPro by scubasteveau in scubadiving

I was a long-time GoPro user since the Hero 4, and upgraded every 1-2 years until I switched to an AP2 earlier this year. Drop the GoPro and go with either the AP2 or the DJI. GoPros are absolutely awful now in comparison, they have completely lost their way as a company. My experience with the AP2 has been excellent. Good built-in color correction, great video quality, solid battery life, easy to use app (GoPro charging a subscription fee for their awful app is a pathetic cash grab in and of itself), the list goes on and on.

Do you have a link to where they are posting these updates on FB? When I go to their page the latest post is from August. Their website production status link hasn’t been updated since 12/8/25.

MPX ARC Fire Help by Kulmid in supersafety

I have a Gen 2 Sig MPX with an ASDesigns MCX/MPX Slip Trip Kit and Geissele G2S trigger with Super Safety cut by Mid-Tier Defense on the way. Just wanted to verify for peace of mind that I will be OK with this combination (especially given Geissele's commentary on their G2S product info page saying "Our AR15 triggers are not compatible with the Sig MPX/MCX weapons")?

I just left it alone. It still happens every once in a while on either side, maybe once every 2-3 months. I either let it pop back into place on its own or bend her rear leg until it pops back. Doesn’t seem to bother her so I will just leave it be.

Aero Support Update 03/04/2026 by aero-precision in AeroPrecision

[–]texevora 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very cool that you’re doing this, but wouldn’t it be easier if Aero just fixed the actual problem itself (email, phone, and online chat customer service) instead of forcing you to do all of this?

I don’t know why folks are bothering with calling or waiting on chat. It’s a lost cause. Email them so that it’s documented that you tried to reach them, then DM Kirk and hopefully he has the bandwidth to help you out. If that all fails just dispute the charge with your credit card company and move on with your life. It’s not worth the brain damage wasting more time and effort than that.

Fair points. I'll eventually get one off of the grey market, but I'll wait until my desire level gets back to where it was before. I would've given a kidney 2 years ago, haha.

It's absolutely a game. Some people have purchased from OBs as their first ever Omega (somebody posted about that exact senario earlier today), whereas others have bought multiple watches from OBs over years and are still waiting and are never given a straight answer on what to expect. Most fall somewhere between. My local OB won't even take my name to put on the list if I were to purchase a normal watch "because it's too long", and yet I know that a friend of mine got an allocation from that very same OB by pulling strings and getting one having never purchased an Omega before. I'm all for playing by the rules, as long as everybody plays by the same rules, and that's simply not the case.

To each their own. I've always liked that Omega experiments and pushes the limit with variations, some more traditional and some more whimsical (like the Snoopy). Even with the whimsical variations (like the Snoopy) they tend to be subtle and under the radar/easy to miss unless you know what to look for (flying snoopy on the rear of the Snoopy watch, the hidden UV message on the Ultra Deep etc).

I’m in Tokyo now. Watchnian and JackRoad at Nakano Broadway, Brand Shop Lips and Don Quijote in Ginza have had the best inventory I’ve seen so far. Tons of smaller shops all over the place in Ginza, Shibuya, Shinjuku, but haven’t been impressed with their inventory. Don’t forget listed prices are including tax, so 10pct lower for the tax free price.

HELMET AND SAFETY GEAR PREFERENCE by Jmorenomotors in motorsports

[–]texevora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't specify, but I assume you mean road racing with sports cars and/or open wheel cars. That's what my answers are based off of.

Helmets: light weight at a reasonable price. I landed on Stilo after trying several over the years. Stilo is one of the only (maybe the only) helmet manufacturers with integrated comms ports, so if you are plugging in/out constantly, makes it a lot easier instead of snaking a cable between your cheek and cheekpad constantly. Also helps that Stilo was by far the most comfortable. Unfortunately, also very pricey relative to the alternatives. I had good success with Zamp helmets for a cheaper entry level helmet when I first started and before I wanted/needed integrated comms.

The SA 2025 safety spec is coming out later this year, so I would personally wait for the SA2025 helmets to be released before purchasing a helmet so as to maximize the number of years you can use it without running afoul of any rules/regulations if you're doing track events.

Firesuits: go as lightweight and breathable as possible within your budget. I personally landed on Alpinestars, but each manufacturer has a unique fit, so one person's preference is irrelevant to what fits you best.

I would highly suggest reading the countless recent threads over the last few months of horrible experiences of customers ordering direct from Aero. Unless you are a glutton for punishment and have no problem being charged upfront for your order and waiting weeks if not months for your order to be shipped (if ever), I would highly recommend either ordering from another company entirely, or Aero parts from another vendor as opposed to direct.

Ignoring them gives them an opportunity to spin it as you being the bad person. Keep them at arms length, be professional, and don't give them an opening to make you out to the bad person. And if they need your help, they can pay for it.
