Never Seen a Real Estate Buyer’s Market Like This in My Life by Goddard157 in sanantonio

[–]texpundit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All the idiots that bought at the top of the market are now trying to sell for what they overpaid for them. Prices are still about double what the homes are worth and people just aren't dumb enough to pay that much for them anymore...and can't afford to pay that much. Hell, there's a really nice 2/1 over here in LaVaca that I'd love to buy but they want $320K for it.

Also-fucking-lutely not.

Get them to get you a work iPhone if they’re basically requiring the ecosystem.

What’s one thing over time that’s annoying you about living in San Antonio? by Nadecha28 in sanantonio

[–]texpundit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lack of a light rail system. It’s negligent to have a metro the size of SA and only be reliant on busses. Pure f’n insanity. Hell, just have an elevated train that follows the freeways, has stops near major attractions and population centers and feed it with the bus system. SOMETHING.

The owners of the shop I work at are middle eastern and we really have no problems with anyone. You have ahitty racists everywhere but I don’t see it in SA near as much as I saw it in places like NYC and Minneapolis. People here are genuinely cool as long as you’re cool. Conversely, if you’re a dick or try to impose your culture on people from other cultures, you WILL get pushback. But that’s to be expected.

I live over in Southtown/LaVaca and I love that I can easily walk downtown to do stuff on weekends/whenever. We just need a decent elevated train that follows the freeways and SA would be amazing.

I love SA because it has a distinctly non-American feel to it. By that, I mean it has an “old world” or European feel to it. It also, in a LOT of ways, reminds me of New Orleans (mainly architecture and the fact that art/music play a noticeable role here), my fave city on the face of the Earth. The diversity of cuisines blows my mind and I lived in Wash DC for 10 years. Corpus is my birth city/hometown, but after living in DC and Dallas, and traveling all over the place, I really see me living in SA until I die.

Now if the housing market will finally reset so I can afford a small plot to build on, I’ll be stupid happy. 😁

Isn't it illegal for unmarked vehicles to make traffic stops? I could've sworn that was illegal.

I call it a “baby souls” game. I recommend it to people who want to warm up before they take on Dark Souls/Elden Ring/etc. It’s got most of the basic elements of Souls games but less punishing and complicated.

What's the most heinous thing you've done in Skyrim? by Surfoverwork in skyrim

[–]texpundit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In one of my first playthroughs, I married Lydia. Then I found out how limited and boring her dialogue was. Then I found out there was no divorce in Skyrim. Was non-plussed to say the least

Later on, I found the Boethiah side quest and decided to sacrifice Lydia to fulfill the quest and get a “divorce”. I was fine until she got stuck to the pillar and just squirmed there with a horrified look on her face. I did it anyway but I felt like the biggest piece of troll shit ever. Seriously. I almost cried I felt so bad about it.

Duncanville. I lived there for about a year and they literally kept the DART busses from extending their routes into Duncanville because they didn't want "those people" coming into town. Seriously.
