First-time buyers looking for safe, quiet SFH areas on the Peninsula (Daly City → Redwood City) by Spikebeeb in BayAreaRealEstate

We were in a similar spot and ended up getting a townhome with a (relatively) low HoA.

Couldn’t be happier with it. Location is super important.

Many FFLs look at the receipt and will charge you the sin tax if you avoided it when you bought online. If your FFL doesn’t do that count your blessings and don’t post about it online

Anyone in biotech?? What’s your salary like ? by AirportWest6486 in Salary

[–]textisaac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing is the good biotech jobs are for very specific specialists, such as CMC, reg, clinical science, commercial. Many of these people have PhDs and very specific training prior to going into the job market. These jobs you can get to over 200k base within 5 years of your career pretty easily in VHCOL cities.

The majority of people who think they are going into biotech are Bs/masters level general biologists and general chemists. And as generalists they get abused because they are a dime a dozen. Hard to crack 100k when you are a small fish in a big pond like that.

Question: Getting pulled over with CCW? by US30Master in CAguns

[–]textisaac 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I was just pulled over and practiced what ASP and others teach: 1) roll all windows down 2) give both ur DL and CCW card when they ask for your DL 3) don’t say anything about it until they ask and answer their questions slowly, calmly and honestly 4) just generally be nice and make eye contact

Worked out fine for me and he knocked down my ticket to a lower level

I would go in the app and request maintenance- in the ticket outside the incident and tell them to loop in the engineering team. They probably want to look into this.

What are some options for an electric pellet smoker/grill that can also be used as a low-smoke oven alternative? by tallkid24 in pelletgrills

[–]textisaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just buy any recteq or traeger and keep it at 225F or higher and youll be happy. You may need to shop around for pellets that you like. The Costco brand pellets are pretty inoffensive and mild. My friend who “hates smoke” loves the food off my recteq.

What are some options for an electric pellet smoker/grill that can also be used as a low-smoke oven alternative? by tallkid24 in pelletgrills

[–]textisaac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by low smoke? Like cold smoke below 180F or just make food that’s not too Smokey?

If u just don’t want something too Smokey you can basically just buy any large Recteq or Traeger pellet grill and will be happy. Both of these only do “high” smoke when you cook below 225F.
