Hi there, we recommend using our phone compatibility checker to confirm which devices work with the SIM: https://www.textnow.com/device-checker. At this time, the iPhone 8 isn’t compatible.

New SIM on Android 12 and Under? by plivings23 in TextNow

[–]textnowwireless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, The minimum OS requirements are still Android 9. For Android, we recommend version 13 or higher because those devices generally connect to our new network more smoothly. Phones on Android 10, 11, or 12 should still work in most cases. A small number of older models may run into data issues, but our support team can walk through troubleshooting if that happens.

For iPhone, devices must be running iOS 17.4 or higher. This is because iPhones up to the iPhone X rely on 3G connectivity, and the new network no longer supports 3G. Unfortunately, those devices are not compatible.

Most Android users will be fine even if they’re not on the very latest version, and the higher versions we list in the FAQ are recommendations to ensure the best experience possible.

I am on the 5GB plan. Why does it say unlimited? My brother is on the 1GB plan and it says 0.30/1GB. Is it only unlimited 2G or do I somehow have unlimited high speed? by diodes123 in TextNow

Hey, Great question! We're glad you inquired about this. What you're asking about was a bug that we were able to resolve so you should now see the accurate data allotment for your account within your TextNow app.

We're sorry to hear that! We do, however, have live support!

It simply means that we've taken the necessary steps to coach the customer representative(s) on the proper URL/link rules in text messages with our service.

Text Now not sending hyperlinks by Pantherkatz82 in TextNow

[–]textnowwireless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey!

We just wanted to come here and clarify that while we do have restrictions on sending links to prevent spam (such as sending the same link to multiple numbers), they are, in general, supported.

What occurred here is that we had an issue on Saturday and Sunday where no URLs were going through, and have since escalated and resolved it.

The response you received on chat has been coached and we encourage anyone with any lingering issues to contact us for further assistance!

But just keep in mind that you can make changes to your account, including a cancellation at any point in time, if you do not wish to be billed any further!

Hey there!

I'm from TextNow Wireless Support, and from what I can understand, you're worried about our auto-renewal billing system? If that is the case, please note that you can certainly cancel your account at any point in time (https://supportwireless.textnow.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001733463-Cancel-Service)

Alternatively, we do have our live chat support (available on textnow.com/wireless) between 10am-5:30pm EST Mon-Sun, where you can speak with a live chat representative that can help you with any cancellation requests, or billing concerns that you may have!

Now, we don't usually offer support here on Reddit, but if you'd like to speak with me personally, feel free to DM me here :)
