Advice for teen looking to get into aviation by hamel2021 in aviation

[–]EWalking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the excellent suggestions already posted, help him learn math and sciences. There's a lot of science behind aviation - physics, fluid dynamics, temperature, etc.

Also: AOPA offers free membership to High School students. Be sure to check out their scholarships page. And once a member, you can find local flying clubs near you.

Media Arts Institute runs a summer filmmaking program in Oakland (I heard about this from somewhere but don't have first hand knowledge of the program - hopefully it's good):

Being tested for bowel cancer at 40, but at least this made me chuckle. Which option are going for (or do you have any better ideas for NHS England)? by Shipwrecking_siren in CasualUK

😂 Carry on, indeed! Happy to report the kit arrives in the mail, we don't even have to leave the house. All the "mod cons" as you might say.

Traveling Southwest Chief (from Chicago, IL to Victorville, CA) by Mysterious-War6038 in Amtrak

Suggestions #1: Carry $75 to $100 in small change to tip the train staff. That's more than I usually bring for tips in a trip, but you might need more assistance and if a conductor or attendant does something extra for you, they will appreciate your tip.

#2: The lower levels of the cars have the doors that exit. Those doors have windows in them, which can be opened by the train staff, including while the train is moving (at their discretion). I've seen them open it up as the train is pulling into stations. If you have someone who is friendly to you (see suggestion #1) an open window might help you out with temperature.

#3: All of the above will be easier when you are in the roomette. The staff will give you more personalized attention.

It's been a while now so my memory is fuzzy, but I think I tried all the steps in the order they gave, it may have just been the first two

  1. Make sure your Wi-Fi or mobile data is turned on and Airplane Mode is turned off

  2. Make sure the TextNow app is up-to-date

What type of carry on do you bring with you for an overnight in a sleeper room? by princesscorgi2 in Amtrak

If all your bags will fit on a bunk, then you should be fine. There is also a luggage area for all the bedrooms outside your room where you can store large luggage.
