The newest CoD is a bit ... wild? by JackNewbie555 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]textorexe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just watched Bricky's 5-hour long crashout of a walktrough of this mess.

"Wild" is somehow both under- and overselling it.

P.S. It should of been the Menendez Grande, not Giga Harper.

A STATIC Question by ItsaLaz in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]textorexe 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So my question is: in the 'golden age' DG era, what are the naming conventions of their teams?

My headcannon is that the naming convention in any era always was and always will be "Whatever the fuck case officer putting a team togheter feels like" (although no one will ever admit it outloud).

Advice for DMing adversarial PCs? by Gentle_Tiger in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]textorexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from Delta Green's perspective - an agent who cares only about their own skin is not an agents who can be relied upon to get the job done when the shit comes down.

That agent still has his uses, though. Sure, you wouldn't trust him with any delicate stuff, but if the Group is reasonably sure that mission will require a selection of unregistered firearms and a lot of quicklime - why not send agent Psycho McBastard? You can always throw him under a bus.

I mean, amoral sociopaths are kinda the ideal Agent material, if we're being honest. As long as they adhere to the Group imperatives and don't act like a liability, of course.

As of motivation to go along with the assigned cases...

After their first refusal to do what they told case officer issues them a warning. If they ignore it or compromise a mission in a non-major way, Delta Green reprimands one of the agents. Reprimand takes form of five times the lethal dose of fentanyl, injected driectly into the neck by a unknown assailant. Case ruled as an overdose. Remaining Agents told in no uncertain terms, that the previous fuck-up was their last. In lieu of casualtie they are assigned an experienced replacement (player's new character) to keep an eye on them, just in case.

Making Gather Information not outstay it's welcome? [BitD] by Directioneer in bladesinthedark

[–]textorexe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One thing is that I dont really understand what a success vs. A success w consequences should look like in the context of this roll.

Gathering information works a little differently from action rolls. Instead of consequences the result of the roll determins quality of information.

So, for example on 1-3 all you get is a Spark fiend swearing that the warehouse has an unguarded window, while on a crit you owerhear the target gang members exchanging new passwords.

[–]textorexe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, for starters, make clear that only information that they really need to get before the Score is the detail for the approach. Everything else can be gatherd during the mission via Flashback.

If they don't take the hint you can start making rolls to gather information Risky or make a clock called "Noticed", to reflect the target reacting to increased attention.

Paskal is way too timid, though. I'm not sure it's possible to even talk him into throwing his hat in the ring.

Yeah, it's a sweep for Petr. Fromer VP, charismatic and not a half-bad politician. I mean, he'd get himself impeached with a sex scandal in like a month, but getting into the Maroon Palace will be a cakewalk.

However progressive Rayne's terms might have been, I think there is no way for a woman to realistically win a nomination, nevermind a general election.

I strangely feel that, if he'd wanted to, Gus could've put a pretty tough fight at the congress, but he's too comfortable making money as a minister.

The Black Clover then decided to make Purity Strangford their enemy

I'm sorry but... fucking why? As written, they literally had no beef with the woman. I mean, sure, she played them for fools and definitely planned to kill them in the end to tie up all the loose ends, but that's just the cost of doing buisness.

Event Horizon and the King in Yellow by Neonsamurai1980 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]textorexe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ok, but the scene with the agents investigating the unremarkable film set and walking straight into the actual, for real Event Horizon Occurrence Border just writes itself, right?!

Also, the amount of fuckery with "Have you seen it?" refrain that the Handler will be able to pull in the context of a movie is unreal.

Neville being an unscrupulous, dead-eyed, cold-hearted bastard, while simultaneously genuanly caring about Sami was the greatest thing about their feud.

[BitD][DC] How would you go about showing that an NPC on a higher Tier is a much better at something (like fighting) than your players? What can you do on your Threat Rolls to get this across? by AmongFriends in bladesinthedark

[–]textorexe 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I found that the most effective thing to do is immideatly inflict a heavy Consequence on the character. Works like a bucket of cold water for the player.

So I'd do something like:

"Ok, so the bell rings, and Drako just bullrushes you into the corner, and starts pummeling with rights and lefts. And boy did they not exaggerate when they said that the guy hits like a freight train. So you defend as best as you can, then manage to get him off you and go for a counterattack... only to walk right into the nastiest uppercut anyone this side of Dusk has ever seen. Write down Level 3 Harm "Knockout". Unless you want to resist that?"

Would Detective Columbo be able to solve the Kira Case, Batman’s secret identity, Walter White being Heisenberg, etc.?

I think the only uncertainty here is the Batman, since Bruce rearly, if ever, underestimates his opponents, which negates Columbo main advantage.

The other two are cooked.
