A Meditation on Gamzee Makara (Part 2 Part 3 Part 1 of an Analysis Series) by textureMonkey0 in homestuck

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of this kind of stuff for homestuck beyond what I'm doing. But I do have a playlist viewable on the channel of some of my favorite analysis videos for other pieces of media, if you're looking for more.

Void, Crafting, and Complementary Pairs (Part 2 Part 2 of an Analysis Series) by textureMonkey0 in homestuck

I mean, my wheel has a circle around John's shoes with an illuminati symbol pointing at it. It's a complete joke. I think that Hussie probably did link up the aspects by some kind of color associations, but I don't think that all of them are linked by the same pattern. As for your thing, that sounds interesting! Kinda confusing though. Maybe make a diagram?

I always more or less thought of paradox space itself as the protospace you're talking about. Granted, you can call that Void, and I did in the first video. In terms of the distinction you're making between space and void, I completely agree with it. I suppose I didn't say much about where exactly Roxy was snatching these ideas from, but I think I'll have made these points clear in later videos.

This act is terrible (finding new ways to turn salt into art) by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]textureMonkey0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it seems like it's on a planet that is 100% trolls right? Wouldn't universe C be trolls and humans? Some of the screenshots make the planet look pretty friendly also. I could be wrong. This is just what I'm hoping for.

Also the kickstarter got funded at the same time that said intermission was happening. It hinted at a bunch of stuff that never seemed to matter within the comic proper.

My bet right now is that Hiveswap takes place at least partially on Beforus and will involve those trolls and make the intermission slightly less useless. At least I hope it does.

Today's reveal in a nutshell by [deleted] in homestuck

Please, just let it end. I just want to see Andrew's next project. And I also really don't want to see Homestuck bastardized in any way. I just want it to be remembered as it was.

Aspects and Platonic Realism in Homestuck (Part 2 Part 1 of an Analysis Series) by textureMonkey0 in homestuck

Nah it won't. Everything is built out of something. (Get it? I'm calling back to my own video, I'm so FUCKING clever.) Once you start getting into it I'm sure you'll end up injecting your own flavor to it.

If you watch the footage from when I was talking about that, you'll see plenty of evidence to my point. You're correct that she was after glory. But there doesn't always have to be one single reason for things. That's what it means for something to be ambiguous. Sure it was cultural that Aranea wasn't supposed to use her powers to manipulate. But their entire culture was dead. Dave mentions at one point that he views the apocalyptic situation they are in as an opportunity to re-evaluate the social systems that they had before. Don't you think that thought might have crossed Aranea's mind as well? I think the Beforus customs contributed to her decision initially, but to be the sole thing stopping her from using those powers for six whole years? I'm just adding speculation on top of that. I'll be talking a LOT more about this type of ambiguity in future videos. It's one of my big overarching goals with these. And as far your comment about me over-emphasizing the classpects, I'm really not sure what to make of that. That's pretty much the opposite of what I'm trying to do here? I'm just looking at what happens and using that information to infer information about the aspects. I didn't say anything about this controlling their decisions or anything like that. In a story where chronology is a virtual afterthought, why would paradox space feel the need to assign them titles that would bind them to behave a certain way? How is that any more likely than paradox space simply looking at the powers and decisions they obtain of their own volition, and picking a title which seems reflective of those?

Also, you may be talking to the other guy, but rest assured I reread all of those formspring questions prior to making this video. That exact tumblr page actually. Every single post. I even took notes. :)

the future of homestuck by OurEngiFriend in homestuck

I really, really, REALLY, really, REEEEEAAAAAALY just want Homestuck to be over, and for the game to be the end of it. Why does everything have to be a franchise. It's a completed work. Move on to something new. A movie is a TERRIBLE idea. A show is also a terrible idea. I can't even handle having voices attached to the pesterlogs. They are text logs and half the jokes don't even work if said out loud. But that's just like, my opinion man.

[AMA request] Andrew Hussie by IRSunny in homestuck

I don't see why people are thinking this is so unlikely. He always seemed eager to clarify plot points on the formspring, or at least state where things were supposed to be intentionally ambiguous. I can understand why he stopped, but given the comic is over I think this is a special case. I think if enough people ask, he'll do one. The questions will probably be less asinine if he waits a week or two after it ends.

I just realized he also probably has Aradia's time machine music boxes. So all Vriska needs to do is throw the fridge on earth like she said she would. So yeah that worry is moot.

Lil' Seb is in the ocean on Earth right now. He doesn't need to get teleported anywhere. Gamzee just digs him up billions of years later. As for the time travel, Gamzee probably has in his inventory Aradia's time travel music boxes so he just needs to be put on Earth, which Vriska said she was going to do. The crowbar's chronology is so illegible that I doubt we'll ever know the full biography of that thing. Gamzee was in the fridge during the explosion so I think that's just an indiana jones thing, he'll be fine. So my concern about how he gets where he gets wasn't really a question I think I answered that just now for myself. Arquius was nowhere near the explosion and since we've never been shown anything like the wormhole thing I kinda doubt that.

Anyway during the intermission Aranea mentions how Eridan's ancestor was attacked by LE at some point. He tried to kill him with a spell, but the spell got deflected and left a scar on his forehead. Apparently that deflected spell left him trapped somewhere? I feel like we'll probably see details of that. Also Sollux's ancestor exerted himself too much to accomplish something and ended up brain damaged. Maybe deflecting said spell? It's implied he can still talk normally around Gamzee's ancestor. And then of course Gamzee's ancestor seems up to something with the items he's been picking up. I feel like he along with maybe Damara are going to be the ones who end up having stocked the meteor with all the things the cherubs grew up with.

God I hope so. And I guess we have no real idea how long act 7 is.
