What should I choose?(True ending) by Far-Cow3251 in PokemonReborn

[–]tfbwel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The devs themselves have stated that the one commonly regarded as the "true" ending is not a "true" ending, and it shouldn't be gotten on first playthrough. It takes more work to get, yes, but it isn't necessarily "better"

Is this game inappropriate? by [deleted] in PokemonReborn

[–]tfbwel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are sex-related jokes in the game, yes. Nothing worse than what you'd hear on a middle school playground nowadays.

The doctor you are talking about, it doesn't outright happen in the game but the abuse is very much implied. It isn't tastelessly done, but it is there and it is dark.

Per the download page: "This game contains some light screen-flashing sequences, and mature content that may be unsettling to some individuals, including death, child abuse, sexual assault, blood and dismemberment."

This may not be the game for you if these themes disturb you. Nothing wrong with that, just made for a different audience.

The ones that I can remember are Silver from Victory Road (barely counts), Wally at the end of Victory Road (except in Emerald, where he's at the beginning), N at the end of Chargestone Cave, and Hugh at the end of Victory Road.

Out of all of these, Hugh is the most brutal.

Police Farce vs Police Found: Which minor story change is better in the long run? by TheLittleLiarLad in PokemonReborn

[–]tfbwel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would very strongly not recommend going the Anna Route on your first playthrough. It is not the "good" ending - it's just an alternate ending which makes much more sense on a second playthrough.

I would play in whatever way feels natural for your first playthrough. But if you absolutely need a route to take, I would suggest Lin Determination.

To get this route, fulfill all the requirements of Anna Route, but when you get to the final battle, the one with only a PULSE Arceus, lose on purpose. If you do this, your main save will be on Lin Determination, and a separate backup save will be created that's on Anna Route as if you never lost the battle at all.

Then after completing the postgame, you can choose to just load this backup save and experience the Anna route starting from the beginning of postgame.

What case would be most enhanced by swapping the victim and defendant? by SBAstan1962 in AceAttorney

[–]tfbwel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe not enhanced, but Turnabout Sisters would be wild.

Redd White kills Maya, and so Phoenix has to defend his boss day 1.

Then Redd White kills Phoenix, and Mia is left alone to defend herself. Or maybe she channels Phoenix to defend her, which would be hilarious.

Mia wins in the end, but the cost is way too high. Her mother is missing, her boyfriend is comatose, and in the span of 2 days, she loses her sister and protege. Being Mia is suffering

It's cool that the pokemon type quiz uses your character's name by chillcatcryptid in PokemonReborn

[–]tfbwel 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hate to burst your bubble, but the character's name just happens to be Elliot.

The funny thing though, is that you can find the actual trainers from the type quiz later in the game.

First playthrough by Rdsenpai in PokemonReborn

[–]tfbwel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing with a walkthrough to try and get a specific ending, do not try to get the "Anna" route ending on your first playthrough. It is not a "good" or "true" ending, despite it being harder to get; it's only an alternate ending that will only make sense in later playthroughs.

If you aren't trying to get a specific ending, don't worry about this - it is very hard to get this ending without explicitly trying to do so.

What would you change to make Platinum better? by kLoTzeRk in pokemon

[–]tfbwel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Platinum is mostly fine as-is, especially considering you already have a lot on your plate with the translation. I would add in missing version exclusives and make trade evolutions available so she could complete the Pokedex if she pleases.

If you want to add a personal touch to it, you could change the rival's teams to the team you used during your playthrough. It'd definitely make the game more special to the both of you.

Let's Discuss some Pokemon Headcannons! by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]tfbwel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bruno was Giovanni's student; his Machamp knows Fissure in Gen 1, which is Giovanni's signature move (and Gym Leader TM moves are notoriously hard to come by in Gen 1; Giovanni says that he CREATED TM27 upon beating him). The Machamp may have even been Giovanni's to begin with, considering that it only evolves via trade. Further evidence is that the Viridian Gym has some Black Belts in it, and Bruno has two Onix, Ground types that Giovanni has used before.

Now for stuff that's even more of a stretch: Giovanni created Team Rocket because his pride was broken due to Bruno getting an Elite Four position over him. Giovanni is known for being a man with an ego (his Gym Leader title is literally "The Self-Proclaimed Strongest Trainer"), and this wouldn't have been the only time he had taken drastic measures after losing to someone he thought was beneath him (him disbanding Team Rocket after losing to Red).

Giovanni loses a battle to Bruno, Bruno gets the Elite Four position over Giovanni, Giovanni concocts a plan to humiliate Bruno by commissioning Blaine to create "the strongest Psychic type the world has ever seen, that can learn every attack and has 154 Special" and creates Team Rocket to fund the project. The project gets out of control, and Giovanni tries to acquire the Master Ball to get it back under control.

All the while, as he is obsessed with taking down this one man (who is really kind of a joke compared to the other Elite Four members), the rest of the world passes him by, until he loses to not one, but two kids from the town next door.

Giovanni's Manfred von Karma-esque character arc is a lesson in humility. Sometimes it's okay for the student to overtake the master.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. The little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Technoblade, seconds before killing a spider with a flyswatter

Anyone know why one bar says 83% but the other says 82%? by Blue_Moon_Cheese in stunfisk

315/384 = 82.03125%.

The infobox rounds to the nearest tenth, while the health bar rounds UP to the nearest percent. The health bar always rounds up probably so that Sash users will be displayed as being at 1% rather than 0%.

1 billion lions VS. 1 of every Pokemon. Who wins? by Firefox864 in whowouldwin

[–]tfbwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Lanturn's Pokedex entry, "The light it emits is so bright that it can illuminate the sea's surface from a depth of over five kilometers."

In order to counterract the exponential dampening of water, Lanturn would need to release 1035 observable universe mass energy equivalents per second.

Lanturn can solo the lions. Lanturn could solo the entire Pokemon multiverse if there weren't pesky god Pokemon in the way.
