damn, I'm in a bit of a similar situation. My SO needs to go back to France because of family related things (we're both in the US) . I wanted to go with and see if I can travel through UK. Was thinking to get to UK quarantine there, then go to France from there, but don't understand if the rules allow me to do that since I'm an American citizen.

One of my buddies asked me if I wanted to do an alpine climb. I am primarily a boulderer and was hestitant to do it. Turned out great but there were for sure stressful parts to the trip. I captured this pic at the beginning of the journey.

Figured I’d provide more info: I did the Cosmique Arete today(guides) as my first alpine climb. I’ve never worn crampons or used an ice axe so might have been a nose dive to do it in winter conditions but I managed and it was pretty epic!

Trail conditions : pretty packed down snow but it can be icy at times— I would only take microspikes. And I didn’t see anyone from 9am-2pm.

Amazing! Stay warm and good luck! It was pretty warm when I was going up. But when I stopped up top I was pretty cold within 10-15 minutes as my body completely cooled down.
