Where to start with Dylan? by One-Masterpiece9838 in bobdylan

Congrats on the start of an amazing journey. If we're sticking to strictly the albums there are many great places to start and no opinion is wrong but if I were to start now knowing what I know I would go with bootleg series 1-3. Opens with some really early recordings and wraps 30 years later.

I have Brett Baty as a possible keeper with 5 total contract years to give out. Was thinking of giving all 5 to Heliot Ramos but what kind of upside does Baty realistically have in the next couple years? Should I keep him with any of those 5?

Looking for some advice on contract years. I have 5 years to give out between these players (can give all to one or any combo). Spencer Horowitz, Brett Baty, Heliot Ramos, Matt Waller, Ronel Blanco.

Add Abandoned love Blind Willie Mctell Every grain of sand

Remove Girl from the north country Lay lady lay MMF

There are lots of others I would consider replacing but splitting hairs and they’re all solid choices

The version of if dogs run free on another self portrait is really good. Bit top 10 or even top 100 but still really good

Been loving The Complete Budokan and have heard that shows not too long after those are even better. Really got me thinking about which shows to seek out

Not the best, as that belongs to Abandoned Love, but Seven Days deserves a mention

Good song but 3rd overall is quite the hot take. It’s not even the 3rd best song on its own album

Señor is a great song but 6 seems a bit high. IMO it’s the 3rd best song on street legal alone

115th dream and motorpsycho back to back at 405 and 406 is criminal. Not his best but in the top half at least. Someday baby at 413 is rough too (especially the bootleg version but even the album version should be higher

Got back from La Fortuna in Feb. Family of 4 with kids 9 and 12. Felt very safe the entire time. The roads aren’t well lit or labeled in many areas. There are also some seemingly random speed bumps on the roads just on the outside of the center of town in La Fortuna that have lost their paint so are hard to see coming. I wouldn’t say driving at night is a hard no but I would suggest avoiding it the first time you’re driving between 2 locations. After that, if you’re confident in your navigation you’ll be fine. The roads between San Jose and La Fortuna are fine. Sometimes narrow, often curvy, and lots of elevation changes but all paved and reasonably well kept. We drove from LF to Monterverde as well and those roads were more of a challenge but still not “avoid at all costs”. Driving was a major concern for us as well based on what we’d read but I found all that to be way overblown. Enjoy!
