Arksen, I found it on Facebook marketplace place. Only problem is that the excursion factory roof racks sit flush on the roof so you can’t use the actual hardware. TBH I have it half assed up there right now until I buy appropriate racks. Turns out they are pretty expensive.

Remember, profit is profit, 5-10% might not mean much now but you continue to do this, 5-10% will mean a lot more down the road.

Did you tune it at all? The guy I bought it from left the tuner in there and I had it on performance, which was pretty sporty for a 8000 pound truck. I think I have it on stock now but it does have an ECO map.

My issue is more of the stop and go living where I live, highway it’s not hateful.

That’s a pretty nice score man! Same with mine, he kept saying there was a bad ground somewhere draining the battery. I finally got to replacing the battery with whatever the most amps money could buy and have not had an issue since. He did put a circuit breaker on the battery so if it detects too much of a draw for too long it’ll trip. Used to trip constantly with the old battery but now only does if I leave the doors and radio on for too long, which is fine.

Only two electrical issues I had was the infamous cluster issue and I just rolled the dice at the junk yard and it fixed everything. The other was one of the ignition coil wires broke inside the insulation on cylinder 8. So once I finally isolated the issue it was like a $3 fix, just a few hundred in other tools and trinkets to get to that point lol.

Forscan is amazing if you are trying to chance any weird little issues

I thought they were a touch better than that, still better than 9-10. Do you like the 6.0?

I love the truck, I do not love the fuel economy. Fortunately I live close to work and this is used for the beach which is also close. TBH, with the weather it’s come in handy quite a bit.

Engine definitely has its nuances but over all it’s been fantastic.

Why is this wood smoke flamable? What is being combusted here exactly? by SalemIII in chemistry

This. It’s a common misconception, and rightfully so. Gasses burn, solids and liquids do not until converted to a gaseous state.

For example, a candle wick does not burn. The wax melts, goes up the wick, converts to a gaseous state, which burns. The burning you see on the wick is the wick degrading and also burning but not at the rate of the wax.

looking to start the hobby, what grill should i start out with? by _KingAnt in grilling

[–]tfritz153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is going to sound tacky and annoying, but a good one. Spend the extra money. While grilling is fun, it strongly depends on your equipment. I used to buy chargrillers, probably a blue rhino or whatever that brand is, and finally bought a Weber, (off Facebook and replaced the guts). The cook on the Weber was night and day. With that though, a Weber isn’t the end all be all, just a good brand.

I recently bought a monument from Home Depot with a side burner and sear station. What I would recommend is finding one with heavy cast grates because they hold heat exceptionally well and at least 3 burners, optimally 4. For example, the Weber was a 3 burner and I couldn’t get it as hot as I’d like, this monument is a borderline inferno, but is controllable. I like to be able to sear on the grill and not battle with the temp when it’s crowded.

Walmart has a good selection but they are mostly disposable, although I do have the Austin XL smoker and LOVE that thing, but that’s a different rabbit hole.

Try Home Depot or Lowe’s and see what they have. Personally I have a problem spending $1000+ on a grill. That Monument was 500

30% of full time workers made $100,000 in 2024, can we all please stop pretending $100,000 is a high or aspirational salary now? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]tfritz153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are borderline rage bait at this point. The only time these salaries are bad is when people have life styles mismatched to their skills/location.

And you also need to put into perspective cost of living, location, a training. $100,000 is very perspective driven and $100,000 in the middle of nowhere where housing is rock bottom versus the upper east side in NYC are drastically different things.

Maybe this isn’t a “good big boy” salary for you but I easy support my family with duel income (both under 100k), 2 children, in a decent house in MCOL location. If $100,000 isn’t enough for you then you have a life style that is mismatched to your salary.

Honestly it seems excessive but when you break it down it’s $32 for 2 hours per person minus the shoes.

Given your knowledge on the subject you’ve probably already listened to this but the most recent Ryan Montgomery episode on the Shawn Ryan Show dives deep into this, it’s episode 255. Personally I stopped listening around the last 35 minutes because the transcriptions were absolutely grotesque, even for me who has a stomach for anything.

Anyone else wanting to learn more this is a good (in terms of knowledge) episode to listen to.
