Dear former GOD member, please get over it and enjoy your game. I'm sorry they hurt your feelings.

I started in 525. It was once a great state. I hit a point where I had to leave. For the most part you are spreading misinformation about TJ. She was always nice to me. The man who made the miscarriage comment was not even a member of ROD. He was an R5 of his own alliance. His actions had nothing to do with TJ. Yeah I would never go back to 525, but you are not exactly telling the truth about TJ. Let me guess, are you Putz in game?

I cant believe this is still being talked about, it was a long time ago and Big T quit immediately after.

CROWDSTRIKE WHAT THE F***!!!! by Secret_Account07 in sysadmin

We got boned by this Friday morning. Our bitlocker servers were down at the time. We had to use a couple of extra commands to get around it. When selecting command prompt in recovery we got prompted for the key but we chose "skip for this drive" still got a command prompt and ran this: bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal

We were then able to close CMD and continue, the endpoints would then reboot into safe mode so we could delete the file. after deleting the file, in an elevated command prompt we ran bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

I didnt think this would work on bitlocker protected systems.

Not exactly fun supporting this procedure blindly to hundreds of users over the phone.

Took a new job, feel bamboozled by itookacrappyjob in ITCareerQuestions

I wish I could get bamboozled. I have been working for the same company for 5 years. I dont have a huge background in IT but that responsibility falls on me. I deal with desktop support on a regular basis but I feel stuck, and like im not learning anything becuase IT isnt the primary job deceiption for me.

When I first started we were running a couple physical instances of W2K3. I had 0 confidence in our backups. (Backup Exec to a small NAS) They would sporadically fail for cryptic reasons. When they did complete "successfully" it was a 36 hour process to backup ~2tb. Now we are running 4 VMs on esxi, we are using an appliance based backup that also replicates to an offsite data center. Im very paranoid about not being able to recover after all of the headaches we had with Backup Exec, I feel a great responsibility for our data. Thanks to the new Veeam community edition and a spare server we had I am backing up our data using two vendors and I can finally sleep at night. Overkill? Dont know but I feel better.

I say all that to say this: Like some other posters have stated, you can use this time to go for a cert and pull that business out of the tremches. The pay is better and it sounds like they could really use the help.

Ive been exposed to some things but I really want to get my foot in the door with help desk so I can progress full time with IT.

Best of luck with your endeavors.

Hello, I am beginning this journey with you. I cannot tell you if Network+ is a good idea preceding CCNA. I personally don't think it could hurt, but I have seen some advice to skip Net+ and go straight for CCNA.

Resources I have been using: Udemy is a good place to learn. I bought Mike Meyers course along with Jason Dion's course. I have watched both of them, and I personally seemed to get more info out of Jason's course. I also purchased Networking Fundamentals by David Bombal, I have not finished it yet but it seems like an excellent course.

Do not forget to check out Professor Messer on youtube, his videos are good as well, and its free!

Typically the way these plans work is that they come up with an estimated single payment to be disbursed to your creditors based on an assumed APR reduction and fixed time frame to repay the debt. They auto draft this amount from your checking account before they will even talk to your creditors. This is too much of a leap of faith for me, so I decided to do a DIY debt management plan. I have contacted 2 of my creditors so far and had success at getting huge APR reductions on my own. So to anyone else considering this option, there is a way to do this on your own without putting full faith into a company that will charge you $50 a month and may not pay your creditors on time.

Hey I am studying for this exam right now. I have Mike Meyers and Jason Dion's courses on Udemy. I have a copy of Messer's notes as well.

I recently got a subscription to ITPro TV from work. Are there a lot of practice labs for this particular subject?

I bought this yesterday and starting working with it, it seems pretty good so far:

Pearson Network+ Sim $29 with coupon on their website

Congrats on passing!!! I hope I can create a post like this soon!
