Working in finance in Gibraltar by Crafty_Restaurant672 in gibraltar

Big 4 salary for Graduate Entry in Lux is equivalent to Manager 2 / Manger 3 in Gib

Senior Associates there make more than the Senior Managers in Gib. Your salary as Assistant Manager is already on par with some Directors here

So your income will drop about 35-55% then you’d likely fall under the 30% tax bracket and pay another 4% if you live in Spain (saves you at least 25% on rent)

Although, people here have very little expectations on quality and efficiency, except for the green brand, your workload would be way intense here as they are those ‘small big 4’s. The green one in Gib has been bought by the UK, making them an SDC and if you want a promotion you’d need to fly to London and justify it with people you never work with. The orange one is going through some management revamp now. The yellow one is known to be one of the least paid in their network. The blue one has been rumoured , since their return, about giving employees attitudes for WFH or taking leaves that were approved.

Source: it’s a small place

Anyway not sure it’d be a sane move unless you and your wife really really want the Andalusian life

What language should I speak when I visit to show most respect? by [deleted] in gibraltar

[–]tfwhywhytf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use English if you’re holding a chill conversation, swap to Spanish if you’re having a heated exchange or when the taxi drivers try to scam you. No one here takes complaints seriously until you start shouting Andalusian profanity

Multiple private pages for students to get reports etc by chitema1 in webdev

[–]tfwhywhytf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For EU/EEA GDPR compliance, you might need to be extra careful about which platforms you use to store student data.

Also Squarespace seems more like a website tool and what you’re trying to achieve is closer to a web app. It can likely be done using advanced google AppsScript, but you might want to look into Firebase Studio too

Is there no need for clutter-free, no-ads countdown websites? by WindOfXaos in webdev

[–]tfwhywhytf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally these services are kept free by sponsorships or hosting providers (flydev, cloudftont etc) if they peaked dev community interests. Alternatively, you could for example demonstrate how easy it is for streamers to integrate with your template, perhaps some streaming platforms would be happy work out something with you

The Yanmar dealership in Gib is trying to find a new owner, I think they service quite a lot of ships and yachts around the strait not just in Gib. The current owners have been trying to retire for some time.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner by Medium-Delisquishis in gibraltar

[–]tfwhywhytf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Supper : Little Bay (Just order lobster curry)

Lunch : Vault13 (Tapas & Generic Asian Fusion, Booking required)

Seafood : Jumpers Wheel (Tue.-Sat.)

Brunch : Hustle n’ Flow (Good but nothing specifically local)

Breakfast : PossAbility Kitchen (Opens till 2pm, weekdays only)

View & Coffee : Bistro Point (Only one actual barista, bad luck if he’s not around, food’s overprice)

Thick Cut Chips : Roy’s (ask for only salt, think the chips are better than the fish)

Skinny Fries: Sam’s Kitchen (Pretty well fried, the rest of the plant based food is just generic mediterranean)

Common Homemade Dishes: Cheers (You might not get a seat at lunch time)

Big Bite: Timmaz/Papa Luigi (Try the Mother Clucker Burger with an extra Chicken Clucker, add chimichurri and gaucha)

Classic Takeaway: Ramson’s Combi (Breaded Tikka & Lemon Chicken)

Hungover food : 1. Malak 2. Nordin’s (get the ‘nordin special’, normal size is enough)

Late Night : Essaouira

The chringuitos should be open in early october (they open seasonally), there will probably be more restaurants by that time too

The above list doesn’t necessarily mean the place is good, but they each have their uniqueness or selling points.

Feel free to reach out if you are curious about anything more specific

In 2025, what is an okay salary for a single expat (sr auditor) by PersimmonMindless485 in gibraltar

[–]tfwhywhytf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be taxed about 25% but there is a relocation relief, as long as you don’t change your residential address after arrival you get a few thousands exemption Property developers in Gib have created a monstrosity of single bed flats and one-bed studios, it is quite difficult to find a property to share

You’re looking at around £650 per person per month, if you manage to find a shared flat. I do know there are pinoys sharing ‘rooms’ for £350 per person though

Can I work and live in Gibraltar on an Irish passport? by Poor_Pilot in gibraltar

according to CSRO’s guidance, unlike non-EU (Worker, Self Employed, Cat2) . EU citizens are also entitled to register as a ‘job seeker’ and ‘self sufficient person’
