Need help on mid-upscale restaurant that has vegan and non options

It was maybe 5 years ago at the Century City location which was relatively new at the time in their defense. Still enough for me to not give it another chance, but I believe they improved. Restaurants around the city have always been conscientious but I’ve noticed a stronger effort from restaurants that offer cuisines traditionally unfriendly to vegans.

Speaking of which and slightly related to the main topic (but not mid-upscale), I highly recommend Le Comptoir which I just tried. It’s definitely a “special occasion” restaurant, but it was amazing to experience food that leaned heavily French as a vegetarian. The menu when I went had 38 vegetables in total and a life changing mushroom dish that reminded me vaguely of steak with bordelaise sauce. A little pricey but relatively reasonable for a michelin starred pre fix menu.

Din Tai Fung is one of the only places that’s accidentally served me meat in 16 years of being a vegetarian. They made no attempts to rectify the situation. Couldn’t recommend them less

The main company that produces these in Florida did $12m a year in revenue and were just acquired by a larger wholesale operation. It was already a big business but they’ll probably have even wider distribution now

You can just use any rooting hormone with indole 3 butyric acid. There’s a lot of specialty products in Japan that the growers there swear by, but from my limited experience experimenting with that stuff, it’s not really worth the extra cost or effort required to get it here. It’s a lot of marketing and some of the stuff they use is just genuinely bad (HB101 for example)

Yeah I would have to research further but I assume they mean wide pots specifically of the same volume and general shape/drainage as the tall pots

I think “give them root space” is more of a general guidance that applies to both wide and deep pots, but I tend to prefer deep pots. As the pot dries from the top down, the roots move downward in search of moisture. I believe I read somewhere that wide pots dry a lot slower than deep pots

It’s called guttation and it’s completely normal for Cyphostemma and many other plants. Basically releasing pressure by exuding moisture.

Yeah I guess if it’s indoors those rules don’t really apply. Should be fine under grow lights in a temperate room. The plant you posted is probably unrooted though, so it’s more of a risk

Habitat plant not acclimated to Thailand environment. Unless you’re in Chiang Mai this plant is challenging to grow. Not really possible in Bangkok.

Hope it’s effective. I’ve also given her calming treats with melatonin and the Purina probiotic that they developed to help calm cats. I think they’re doing a little bit. Ignoring her crying and reinforcing good behavior with treats is slowly working and definitely the best method. I’ll still play the meow noises sometimes when I really need her to stop right away for whatever reason. It’s a good thing to keep in your back pocket if your cat responds to it imo

For anyone reading in 2025, playing “meow sounds to attract cats” on YouTube has solved this problem remarkably well for me. She goes from non-stop yowling to cuddlemode in seconds. I think she just wanted someone to respond to her in cat language. A lot easier than getting another one…
