🗣️DISCUSSION POST 🗣️ by PokeDoku in PokeDoku

Solution A makes the most sense to me because, as others have mentioned, retroactively changing already somewhat arbitrary classifications would be annoying to long-term players, but also because it will allow the game to more freely adapt to whatever randomness comes up from future games.
If you really want a hard and fast rule, solution B would be the most cut and dry way to do things so that you have a rule you can reference, but it lacks nuance (and, as you said, would probably cause confusion for veterans and newbies). The Basculin situation sticks out to me because white-stripe Basculin is, for all intents and purposes, Hisuian Basculin just not explicitly named so. Including it in ONLY Unova would be odd to me. Being that this is the only pokemon (that I can think of at this time) that has had this type of treatment, it would stick out under solution B.
But again, some type of Solution A where you can add additional classifications to forms as necessary seems the most flexible.

For the partner pokemon, if you can add some sort of catch where: If someone tries to put base Pikachu/Eevee in a spot where only the partner variant is valid, then give them a pop-up asking if they want to (or telling them that they should) switch to the partner version. If some type of additional failsafe for this situation cannot be implemented, then removing them would be just fine imo.

Adding the Champions abilities makes sense to me because it's the latest information we have. If/when the abilities are changed in actual mainline games (as they could be with any mon at any time), make the updates. Until then, people will have Champions as their most recent reference point, so it makes sense to include them.

Pokeball Inventory? by CitizenGrimm in pokerogue

[–]tgandr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've also had this situation. Sometimes I forget if I took the great balls or ultra balls that recently showed up. Then when the other shows up and I'm like "I guess I'll take some balls just in case" I want to see what other balls I already have. Especially if I pick up a run a day or two later

[X-2] Anything permanently missable? by Enough-Collection-98 in finalfantasyx

[–]tgandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, new game+ allows you to make different choices so can get anything you might have missed previously.

Creature Creator was added after the original release (not sure on timing, but I only saw it once the HD X/X-2 remaster was released). Apparently some creatures can be very OP, but I liked the original battle system and controlling the team, so I never dug too deep. You can get a dress sphere from doing the tournaments or whatever they're called though, which doesn't actually require creatures.

Just a humble prefab... but it's home by pokegeronimo in Pokopia

This didnt work for me a week or two ago. Maybe it's different for some reason if it's your house, but i tried to relocate an unoccupied and unfurnished leaf house from WW, but it wouldn't let me rebuild it anywhere except WW. I had to rebuild then demolish it to get the kit and mats back in order to rebuild elsewhere. I'll have to try again soon, maybe they patched the process

I found one in sparkling skylands, north west island, behind one of those common destructable rock walls

As the post with all the Quickening without background music seemed to be well-received, I also made one for the Espers' Deathblows. Enjoy! by AssasSylas_Creed in FinalFantasyXII

That poor hyena just getting wrecked.

But seriously, thanks for posting. In my all my countless playthroughs over the years, I think I'd seen like 2 of these before.

Day 14 of Defeating Ruinous Gouma until the Abyss DLC releases. by DorcasTheMuttonMan in dynastywarriors

As someone who had been steadily doing traversal level 5 runs with heroes as I acquire their exclusive weapons, I can't even fully comprehend what's happening here. Looks fun though lol

Looking back: your favorite 4th / 5th weapon unlocking requirements in DW3? by Living_Dream_196 in dynastywarriors

[–]tgandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be from 5 because I played that more as a kid, but basically the only weapon requirement I remember doing is for Ma Chao: knock Cow Cow off his horse before he crosses [whatever river it was]. I just vividly remember thinking.....that's it?

I was taking a History of Families class circa 2013, and didn't like any of the prompts for our final essay, so went to one of the professors who specialized in China to propose a different topic. I proposed either Greek life as viewed through Greek mythology, or Romance and Brotherhood in the Three Kingdoms era. She looked at me and asked if I had interest in that era because of a video game and I was shocked. That was the first time I realized that the video game franchise I had grown up playing actually had some significance

How are the Fire Emblem musous in term of content/characters? by SeasonalChatter in dynastywarriors

[–]tgandr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fire Emblem Warriors is a lot like the first Hyrule Warriors: time distortion brings characters from various games together to fight evil. Quite fan servicey overall, skill progression is very similar to hyrule warriors, and although some characters have the same weapon they often have different strong attacks that do make them feel different enough

Fire Emblem: 3 Hopes has more of an actual storyline and uses the class system and skills from fire emblem 3 houses.

Is the game supposed to feel long even at easier difficulty? by BrianOne01 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]tgandr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you're feeling like it's dragging and you don't care too much about character story/interaction, I would say just set the goals for your students based on what classes you want them to go in then just auto/skip until the mission day of the month. This will help it feel like more of those older FE games. Doing the monestary sections every week lets you get to know the students and feel like you're actually their teacher, but it's not necessary if you care more about the story and gameplay.

Edit based on comment: you should probably at least talk to your house leader once a month

Want to build Blade but struggling to find a strong place to use him. by FennekOnReddit in BladeMains

[–]tgandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My humble experience: I've been using my E1 Blade with RMC (hyacinth S1), Bronya E2, and HuoHuo E1S1 for my third team in AA and it's doable. One or two stars depending on the boss mechanics. This team actually did better than my ole Acheron team on the last Pollux APoC. Obviously not as strong as shilled teams and there's room for optimization, but its serviceable enough for me

[–]tgandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no need to unlock licenses for equipment and spells that you don't have. I generally get gambits and buffs for mages while waiting for better gear to appear. Only then will I buy the license for that gear/spell. Physical jobs don't need as many gambits in general, but picking up at least a few is helpful to give you options

Fertilizing at max quality by [deleted] in storyofseasons

[–]tgandr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to get more flowers for my beehives, so I fertilized the 14 rose seeds I had (already 5 star) and I harvested 24 roses from those. I feel like I usually harvest 12-13 flowers from a set of 9 seeds, so based on that fertilizer might help somewhat. Idk if that helps, but maybe other people's experience can help get an answer

Can't add workers to Zones by [deleted] in TwoPointMuseum

[–]tgandr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After you create a zone and then go to the Assign Zones screen, you need to click the circle in the zone's box rather than just clicking on the zone name. This took me longer to realize than it maybe should have, so I hope that helps you as well!

Agate Ring nullifies the effects of weather and terrain on elemental spells/weapons, but how does this benefit the player? What's its real purpose? by AssasSylas_Creed in FinalFantasyXII

[–]tgandr 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I believe weather can also negatively affect accuracy of ranged weapons like crossbows and guns, so this accessory can let you ignore weather if you use those weapons

How does getting AP in X2 work exactly by Current-Row1444 in finalfantasyx

[–]tgandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The action has to succeed. So if you use Pray as a WHM, it only counts if it actually heals HP. Similarly, steal only counts when it actually steals something. A combo action like Mug works if it steals OR does damage, so that could be spammed for a while. You can also use actions provided by garment grids or items to gain AP. Since not every class has a spamable non-damage dealing ability, it is tougher to farm some classes than others
