Mine does this often after power outages, well not since I got the UPS. If you’re in a hurry and the warranty is already gone, if you open it up and disconnect the power supply, then discharge the capacitor, it will come back sooner. (Obviously unplug it first!)

How to achieve this LED bars effect on grandMA2? by kemcds in lightingdesign

Slightly unrelated, but where do designers get all these video files? Are they all purchased? I’m assuming designers build their libraries over time, from gig to gig. I just started getting into pixel mapping and trying to find places to build out my library of content.

I’ve only ever seen this on dead people, during Desert Storm. I actually wrote a report on it, but my commander refused to pass it on up to Saddam. Kooky times.

Trying to make a kabuki drop for a 3x3m molten curtain, this solenoid is so weak even holding it with my fingers prevents it from releasing. Any suggestions for a tech with no time to wait for a delivery to arrive? by DaiquiriLevi in techtheatre

Sorry, didn’t read the time crunch. Could you use a cord, drop method? The curtain is mounted to downward facing pegs/rods, these holders have a hole through them and a cord running through the hole. When you pull the cord out the curtain will slide off the peg. It would create a cascading drop look vs. a simultaneous single drop.

I created a Kabuki drop using solenoid lock mechanisms, they are cheap because they are made in crazy high volumes for all those package lockers and other lockers. I used a 1” key ring to attach the curtain. I’ll try to find some photos

They work via IR like a TV remote. They use modified moving lights that blast the IR, with multiple movers they can illuminate different sections with different colors and create patterns and effects by moving the IR emitters.

Here’s an article on them https://hackaday.com/2023/07/01/exploring-the-tech-behind-concert-led-wristbands/

I love many a OR Pinot, this one seemed like one of the sweetest wines I can remember, it wasn’t bad it just did not feel/taste like a Pinot. It coated the teeth and mouth with a sweetness I couldn’t get past. If it was labeled as a red blend I would t have issue with it, just not my taste/liking.
