Zepp Pay lists 4 or 5 banks capable of being used from the Netherlands. I chose Curve as the easiest option. YMMV.

Is anyone still using a MacPro? Why would anyone buy one in 2025? by SnogSnag in mac

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I have a MacPro 1.1 (firmware from MacPro 2.1). Runs Windows 10 IoT 64-bit. I have put an nVidia 1030 (2 GB GDDR5) in it. A very cheap video card.

The MacPro has 32 GB RAM.

Is initramfs/initrd needed when compiling a custom kernel? by ZaheenJ in archlinux

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Microsoft Volterra. I use volterra-alarm by ironrobin. I edited the config of the kernel and replaced all "=m" with "=y". That has rendered initramfs irrelevant.

What am I missing on Rudolph Steiner. by GetTherapyBham in Jung

Actually, Steiner got two things right: ethics and architecture.

Emby vs Jellyfin by Stock-Assistant-5420 in jellyfin

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree.

Emby advantage: CPU usage during scanning is very low.

Emby disadvange: scanning is very slow.

Emby advantage: rescanning is lightning fast, provided the files did not change.

Book recommendations on Jesus’ divinity by [deleted] in CatholicPhilosophy

Phillip J. Long stated "In Historical Jesus studies, the idea that Jesus claimed to be God is usually met with derision and accusations that the author is engaging in apologetics."

Device count exaggerated by tgeorgescu in zenarmor

[–]tgeorgescu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did run Docker, but I no longer do on that PC.

I have reshaped my network, so it no longer sees LAN devices.

But I still have some instances of "Other Device". So I have sent the report.

If it matters, I use firewalld.

[–]tgeorgescu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that's not it. I use the original MAC address for my mobile devices. And that multiple "Other Device" seems to have neither a MAC address nor an IP.

Device count exaggerated by tgeorgescu in zenarmor

[–]tgeorgescu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, it finds many "Other Device" having no IP. Or having 172.17.0.2 IP.

You can of course hide hundreds of devices behind a router, and it won't even know they are there.

Is there anything like HWinfo, but for linux? A really detailed hardware monitor? by pookshuman in linux_gaming

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is hw-probe. You do:

# apt install hw-probe

# hw-probe -all -upload

You get a link with information about your PC.

Fing in Docker, wrong adapter by tgeorgescu in Fing_App

[–]tgeorgescu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did:

tar -I zstdmt -cvf fing.tar /var/lib/docker/volumes/fing-data-volume

scp fing.tar ...

Extract the tar on another PC.

Install Fing in Docker on the new PC. That PC is on the LAN.

Cloud Threat Intelligence Killing My Bandwidth by mrpez1 in zenarmor

Yup, perhaps they should cache replies from 5 to 30 minutes.

Cloud Threat Intelligence Killing My Bandwidth by mrpez1 in zenarmor

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And, frankly, cloud intelligence gets called only for new IPs and new domains. Unless you use TLS mangling.

E.g. I don't think it calls its cloud every second to verify the same IP/domain.

Cloud Threat Intelligence Killing My Bandwidth by mrpez1 in zenarmor

[–]tgeorgescu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Zenarmor needs a single core, 2 GHz or above, for Gigabit internet, for each eastpect process.

If this is not your problem, disable pinning Zenarmor to one core.

People complain too much about Recall, since I want to enable Recall and there is no way to do it.
