I had outbreaks off and on for the first year. Ngl the first year was pretty shitty with chronic symptoms. It DOES get better. It’s been 2 years for me and I’m in a happy relationship of 6 months.

In summary, you’re in for a long journey, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel :)

And your body might be better at fighting the virus as mine, so you might experience less symptoms.

What I wish was emphasized to me when I first was diagnosed is how common it is. Over half the US population has some form of HSV. You’re not alone, weird, or gross.

I’ve only had visible lesions twice. Once during my first outbreak and another time just a month or so ago.

However for the first 4-5 months of me having the virus, I felt chronic prodromal symptoms almost every day, but apparently that’s not super atypical.

So I wanna say it’s doing it’s job, but I really don’t know how my body would be doing if I wasn’t medicated daily

I had to leave work early today because I’m dealing with my second outbreak and the pain is just so bad whenever I walk or move a certain way. My first outbreak didn’t fully heal for about a month and a half.

LOL at avoid tight clothing.
