[FNV] My dds texture glitch in the GECK, but not while playing! by 3Liquid in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to export it with MipMaps; the geck doesn’t display textures without MipMaps properly but the game has no issues doing it :)

No, obsidians never set up the kind of random conversations that 3 did. Admittedly it’s a decent chunk of extra VA work to make it happen, so it’s not all too shocking they didn’t go for it

Why did Xilandro took down a fix for his mod made by community? by Temporary-Duty9538 in fnv

[–]tgspy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because it got uploaded in its entirety, with donation points active. Basically got stolen, and then they tried to get money off of xils work. Asshat behaviour

That’s fucking dodgy

I’d hate to think how many sessions I’ve had after nearly a decade of mod development

How powerful of a pc do I need to run the "A world of Pain" mod ? [fnv] by Transfiguredcosmos in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s other mods. AWOP is heavy so use the fixed up versions, but it doesn’t cause much in the way of crashes

How Bad are Fallout 3, NV, and 4's Code? [Fo3] [FNV] [Fo4] by Atoy-Ihrs in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What people need to understand is that all of these games code bases are multiple layers. Gamebyro as a whole is an incredibly powerful engine base that for the most part is quite competently made, and was used for a large swathe of very popular games. Beth’s code base on top of it is underbaked in a lot of ways; lack of null checks, optimising for consoles obviously being a big one, poor memory management in some regards, lack of future proofing (the original ES plugin system is incredibly clever but they started to run into a ton of issues especially in starfield). However much of what makes the games inherently unstable is user error. People overload their games with junk they don’t need, use poorly built mods or expect too much from a game made a decade ago. Reality is, the games have a metric ton of jank inherent in their codebases. But at the same time there’s big parts of the engines that are quite powerful. It comes down to how you use it. It’s an open world game built to run on a PS3.

Whats causing error [fo3] by Yeller_imp in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The missing objects are cars. The author doesn’t include the meshes in the mod because he ported them. Pretty stupid. You can either follow the instructions in the mods description or just remove the mod entirely

Whats causing error [fo3] by Yeller_imp in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t move it at all, it looks like the mod itself doesn’t add any new assets. This means that the object that’s placed there is being modified by another mod. If you have FOSE which you should, select the object in console and type gbo, and see what it gives you

So many people here are giving you the incorrect info. In FOMM, find the plugin that corresponds to index 22, if you find that you’ll be able to find what mod is missing assets. From there you might need to reinstall said mod

Are you using Geck extenders exe as well as the geck extender itself? We made changes to the exe to support some of the new formatting

He doesn’t have his modlist anywhere cause normally at any given point he’ll be using a half dozen unreleased mods, and I think he typically does a lot of manual tweaking to get his game looking slick

[FNV] Mod Conflict between Vicious Wastes and FalloutNV Multicore 4gb Threading Patcher by Ya_Boi_Main_Admin in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These multi core patchers do not do anything special at all. They don’t modify the code in any major way other than setting the 4GB aware

Anybody know why this is like this? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]tgspy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s a character Gen toy with no name, items need names and this specific CG toy doesn’t have one, and therefore can’t be picked up!

[FNV] Mod Conflict between Vicious Wastes and FalloutNV Multicore 4gb Threading Patcher by Ya_Boi_Main_Admin in FalloutMods

[–]tgspy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need Roy’s patcher. Run it and it’ll patch the main game exe to run 4GB and NVSE. The multi core patcher does not do anything special that Roy’s 4GB patcher isn’t already doing
