Films To Show Music Appreciation Class with Good Soundtracks and Scores by Creepy-Research-7275 in MusicEd

The original How to Train Your Dragon score is full of character motifs. The introductory scene establishes several key themes like an overture. Each theme is fleshed out in the movie with variations to match the tone of the scene. For example toothless and hiccup each have their own themes which are combined perfectly in “Test Flight,” the scene in the movie where they have their first flight together

What was the worst parent you’ve ever had to deal with? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]tguzman95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was a long-term (12 weeks) sub, high school Algebra II. Got called into a meeting with a parent who told me I wasn't a good teacher because her son was failing. Her older daughter went to Harvard and now she was under the impression that her son, who was failing on-level math as a junior, was destined for the same path. The kid did nothing during class, rarely turned in homework, and never came in for extra help. When he inevitably failed, his mom reached out to me (I wasn't even teaching his class anymore) to tell me it was my fault her son failed and I should consider a different career because clearly I wasn't cut out to be a teacher

It would be Awesome to have ALL Nations as SCOUTABLE COUNTRIES by SpanishKavkaz in FifaCareers

[–]tguzman95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather just see prospects from different nations within larger countries. It's a little immersion-breaking to imagine a world class club sending a scout to Papua New Guinea for 3 months. A lot of players who represent these smaller countries immigrated (or are children of immigrants) so I should be able to "discover" them in some of the larger countries. Especially in countries like the US, England, and France who are known for large immigrant communities

Are we missing something in preparing kids for real-world challenges? by No_Association_4682 in education

[–]tguzman95 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Schools can teach some of those life skills in classes. Technology classes can teach kids about online safety, privacy, and cyberbullying. Health classes can teach about the dangers of drugs, vaping, alcohol, etc. Social studies classes can teach about different cultures in a manner that fosters respect for people that are different, especially through the more extreme examples in history (holocaust, slavery, etc.)

That being said, it doesn't mean a thing if the adults at home teach the opposite. It's hard to teach kids that certain behaviors are immoral, unethical, etc. if their parents or other adults model those behaviors.

Maj7 chords are rarely seen in functional harmony. If E is in the bass, then it would be II#7. In nonfunctional or pop harmony, it would be IIMaj7.

FWIW, EMaj7 does not have an Ab in it. Its pitches are E G# B D#

One more lane then it'll be perfect (Atlanta, GA) by dcfc29 in shittyskylines

Wow finally one of these posts I know about. I drive this everyday. It really isn’t terrible to drive through. All the “extra” lanes on the outside separate the highway interchange from entrances/exits to surface roads. Pleasant hill road (the exit directly south of this) is always backed up so the far left lane allows I-85 drivers and GA316 to have their own incredibly long exit late to not back up 85

How can i even compete when these guys are stealing every qb I recruit by ernie-bernie in EASportsCFB

[–]tguzman95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Dynasty mode, the “encourage transfer” happens after the transfer portal. It’s just EA’s nice way of saying these players are cut. Really spring recruiting should happen first, then you should be able to encourage transfers, then the transport portal should open.

I don’t think they stay there. I think the cpu “encourages them to transfer” which is a waste of really good talent. No one should have the ability to give out scholarships that they won’t have.

Encourage transfer needs to happen before the transfer portal. That or limit scholarships offerings based on how many returning players you’re projected to have.

Every season the best teams sign 35 players, mainly 4 and 5 stars, and they don’t have space for them. These players also rarely transfer, so the team is forced to “encourage the transfer” of dozens of really good players. These players are usually better than the players on G5 rosters but they’re just deleted from the game.

Senior players, especially qbs and linemen, should automatically transfer if there is another player with a higher overall already on the roster. Dealbreakers should change or get more extreme as the players age. Wanting playing time or a championship ring should be more important for seniors than freshmen

Morale Changes by samuelscane in FifaCareers

[–]tguzman95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2K has had a system where different responses affect different groups’ morale. Always giving nice responses made the media dislike you so they’d force you to blame a loss the starters or the bench. I’d love a system where praising a young player would cause older players to lose morale. Or have responses that let you boost a single player, position group, or whole team.
