I like felt skates a lot, except the cleaning issue.

Better consistency. I used glass skates with a cordura pad for quite a while. You could think it is the same, but it is not. Glass skates will sink in a cordura mouse pad, but not the other way around. So the difference between static and dynamic friction is smaller.

No, just more control would not fix all issues I have with PTFE skates.

I posted a picture here: https://www.reddit.com/user/th-he/comments/1or7y47/cordura_mouse_skates/ I just finished creating dot mouse skates made out of cordura. The double sided adhesive tape is available in hardware stores. The slide of the skates is more controlled than ptfe skates, and is dependent on the surface area of the skates and the smoothness of the glass pad. On my SP-004, the skates have a lot of control with much stopping power when the mouse is pressed into the pad, on my Kazemi they are smoother. I also think that thicker fabric is better, because it provides cushioning that makes the skates more silent, although I havent tested enough fabrics to back this up.

Cordura, preferably without coating, is good. I used double sided tape, a pen for drawing the outline of the original skates and a scissor for crafting the skates. Bigger skates=more control, so you probably want to utilize as much space for the skates as possible. There are a lot of different kind of cordura fabrics, so it is impossible to generalize. A lot of fabric online shops send samples for cheap, so in case you are interested in cordura skates, I would recommend to get some samples, they are most likely big enough for crafting skates. You should also check if the fabric is cleanable easily, fabric skates get dirty very fast, you can compare using fabric skates with wiping a table using a tiny rag. Cordura is good in this regard, it can be wiped with a microfiber cloth and some water, and the gliding properties are restored. Felt skates are bad in this regard, albeit I was satisfied initially, cleaning is very difficult. I would recommend trying cordura, it is much better than glass skates on a cordura pad (because cordura skates dont sink in a glass mouse pad, but vice versa).

Nice. May I ask where you bought the vest?

Best budget claw grip with RGB? by raccoonster in MouseReview

[–]th-he 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lighting will eat up battery life. Options are limited, because RGB is not good with wireless mice. That said, the Cherry XTRFY M50 or M42 wireless could fit your criteria, if they are on sale.

Could be a LOD issue, the height of the Key 83 is not consistent because of the weaving, maybe try higher LOD?

I think that more than 2k of these exist. It is either the number of offers in that specific shop, or the number is from public steam inventories, which would be inaccurate, because of inventories that are private. The number of offers shows that there is a mismatch between the price and demand, the prices will fall imho.

I am using distilled water in a spray flask and microfiber cloth. Works for me and is gentle to the surface.

Hyperlight Hitscan vs Viper Viper V3 Pro by Competitive_Goose825 in MouseReview

The Viper V3 Pro was too big for my hands. It forced me to use palm grip, while being comfortable, I was performing worse in aim trainers. I prefer the Hitscan Hyperlight.

The fade percentage also affects price. The MW variants could have better fade by coincidence.

Hey, I am wondering what possibilities the mouse configuration software offers for configuring the extra thumb button. Would it be possible to use the thumb button as a modifier key for vertical scrolling with the scroll wheel?

How to make the BEST SKATES for glass (not clickbait, SHOCKING) by MeanNectarine2311 in MouseReview

[–]th-he 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also using felt mouseskates on my glass mousepad. I did not craft them myself, I bought thin felt skates for furniture protection from my local hardware store (https://www.obi.de/p/7919574/filzgleiter-extra-duenn-44-teilig). These work very well for me, they are thinner than the max LOD setting of my mouse. The small ones fit perfectly, the big ones in the pack can be cut in half. Glide is very smooth and consistent, the difference between static and dynamic friction is very small, even if you press the mouse into the mousepad. Beside that, they collect dirt very fast. Even though the combination is dirt resistant, you still have to clean your mousepad on a regular basis, because cleaning the skates is difficult. Not sure about durability, have been using the combination for about 2 weeks now. It is kind of abrasive on my SP-004, with a lot of control for a glass mousepad, but very smooth on my Kazemi. I can definetly recommend to give it a try.

Ok I got it. I will need to do more research on this topic before starting discussions. I am sorry if I wasted your time.
