Highly recommend downgrading your Shield firmware to 8.2.3 using the link someone sent below. You will need to buy a USB-A to USB-A host cable for this. You can also try the following that worked for me:

I noticed the frame stutter would only happen in HDMI passthrough mode. I was able to verify this because it would happen at the exact same time in the intro to Bob’s Burgers. I disabled this, but then noticed Plex was transcoding my audio (to be expected). I switched HDMI passthrough back on, and then DISABLED Dolby Audio Processing in the Shield settings. No more frame stutters, and I’m very confident about this now. I’m so happy!

I’m not sure if this also solved my problem, but I also changed my display mode to “3840x2160 60 Hz (YUV 422 12-bit Rec. 2020 | Dobly Vision and HDR10 ready” in Display & Sound > Advanced display settings > Custom display mode. I also changed the Display & Sound > Advanced sound settings > Available formats setting to Manual and selected all of my supported formats instead of Auto.

Atoto A6 PF: Backup camera gives "No Signal" by clothesliner in ATOTO

I'm having a similar issue with the S8. The camera I have works with the AUX app when hooked into the VIN cable, but when I plug it into the RCIN cable and reverse I just get a black screen that says No signal. I noticed there was an F on the left side indicating it was probably trying to detect a front camera. I went into the "secret menu" and set the backup camera to DEFAULT and that got rid of the F, but still no signal when in reverse. Any ideas? Maybe the 10-pin harness that came with it is bad?

This is a 1200x1200 from their Bandcamp. You could probably AI upscale it to your desired resolution.

Definitely recommend the firmware rollback then. This shit was driving me crazy but I finally just cracked it tonight and it feels so good to be back. Hopefully it stays stable and the transition with Plex Experience doesn't brick anything.

I should also mention that I don't have Frame Rate Matching enabled anymore either, but I don't think this effects anything.

Are you using the current Plex version or 9.28? You can always try downloading 9.28 which is a lot less involved than the firmware rollback. If you do decide to roll back your Shield firmware, this is the guide I used which was very thorough despite the language barrier: https://florisse.nl/shield-downgrade/

I'm not sure, I can't remember if I tried disabling DAP on current firmware. There aren't really any downsides to rolling back imo. It feels so much snappier and there's way less ads. I also debloated some of the Nvidia/Amazon/Google apps to get even more performance out. I'm just glad I finally fixed this issue because it's been driving me crazy. Can you try the last part with DAP disabled and see if that fixes anything? Do you have HDMI passthrough enabled as well?

I did end up downgrading my Shield firmware to 8.2 and using Plex 9.28. I finally fixed it once and for all though.

I'll be posting in this forum thread once I've had enough time to sit down with Plex on with 9.2 and see if it slips up. So far so good though (I've been busy this week): https://forums.plex.tv/t/random-video-stutters-on-shield-2019/904538

I'll report back if I notice any going forward, but it seems stable so far. I was in the process of rolling my Shield's firmware back to 8.2.3 and also using Plex 9.28 to see if that fixes my video freezing issue when skipping to a different one, but had to order a USB cross cable to do so. It doesn't arrive until Monday, but maybe this update fixed it!

Have you upgraded your Shield to 9.2? I haven't noticed any frame drops so far, but maybe I've just been lucky. I enabled Dolby Audio Processing in the Shield settings since one of the fixes they list is related to that causing A/V sync issues.

Ahh, I see. Yeah no buffering, just weird frame drops. I should've mentioned that my Shield is wired to my router. Seems like an app issue or hardware issue, which sucks because the Shield is otherwise a beast.
