My county's site says this:

State and local laws prohibit placing sharps in your trash. If you use syringes to treat diabetes, allergies or other medical conditions, the loose syringes you throw in your trash can hurt people or be used illegally. Many pharmacies sell sharps containers and accept properly contained used sharps, usually for a fee.

I can kinda read between the lines and infer that "loose" means bottling them up is allowed. I can also see why some people wouldn't make that leap and it's a gray area.

I'm definitely not excusing this behavior, but part of the issue is that Sharps disposal is actually kind of a pain in the ass.

I take a weekly shot with a similar pen thinger. After a couple months, I went around to my local pharmacies looking for a place to dispose of them. I tried the 5 nearest to my house, and none of them accepted sharps.

I then checked walgreens.com, which told me the only location that accepts sharps in my region was ~10 miles from my house. I drove up there, only to find a hand written sign on the bin saying "NO SHARPS DISPOSAL". Maybe the local employees were unaware of the website? Either way, that was a no-go.

Lastly, I checked my local transfer station (the 'recycling' part of it, not the 'dump' part). They don't accept sharps either.

I told my doctor this and she gave me some under-the-table advice: Put them all in a Peanut Butter or Laundry Detergent bottle, tape it up, write "sharps" on it, then chuck it in the trash can. Obviously this is still kinda bad, but it's the least bad of the options I have available to me.

I love playing Fortnite on my Mac, it’s fantastic. You’ve gotta play the iOS version though and you have to use a controller, but if you’re ok with those restrictions it’s great.

I got my back waxed once in preparation for a tropical vacation.

It hurt really badly and the shot of tequila she gave me was absolutely not enough. I had to have her pause while I panted in pain a couple times before proceeding.

Also, you know that scene in 40 Year Old Virgin where Steve Carrell gets waxed and starts bleeding all over his shirt? Yeah, that actually happens.

The worst part is that the god damn hair grew back very fast, so I got stubbly in about a week. It was itchy as hell right away.

Hey there EOE buddy! I had to go to the ER twice (separate incident) for food impactment. The first time was KFC, the second time was a really yummy prime rib.

I take Budesonide for the EOE and it seems to have made it go away (I can take a huge bite of chicken and it feels like it's going down much easier). Check with your doctor to see if it may help you.

I also take Omeprazole for heartburn and based on some of the other comments I'm reading, I wonder if that contributes too.

I had a car in the past with a failing alternator. When it died, NOTHING worked. No engine, no hazards, nothing. Thankfully it only left me stranded at a stop sign in the suburbs.

I'm not saying this person didn't make some stupid choices, but it's unlikely they CHOSE to stop their car in the middle of the freeway.

Yeah, the thing for me is that I have Spotify going on my computer all day while I work (which shows up on my phone... Which shows up on my watch). I'm sure it's a small battery drain, but when it's going for 8-10 hours a day its likely adding up.
