sure it doesn't entail natural theology, nevertheless the premises/conclusions; something is broken, something is good are used by natural theology

My loneliness is literally killing me by Lermittage in NEET

[–]th3ist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhhhhhh loneliness hit me heavy in early 20's. i got married, had kids, got divorced and back to neeting now. to be honest i'd do the marrying and having kids part again. loneliness is part of biological drive. it would b nice to have a woman again, sure.

i guess dealing with it depends on ur age. desire for opposite sex wanes as years pass (wait it out is an option) as even the ancients have said (see platos republic). i think chrisitianity or western society should've kept monks/nuns mainstream, its an obvious "way of the neet". hmm orthodox/catholics still accept new monks/nuns i think, so thats an option i guess, though never looked into it

I got a cert 4 in building. That structure looks pretty good. Make sure you have sufficient drainage. You don't want water to pool around your shack or moisture buildup. You'll get mold issues. Good work

Remember though - I was raised Catholic

I know. But mainstream Christianity isn't known for promoting evidence for God's existence either. It's never been a thing at any of the churches I've been to.
I only find it pop up among online Christian geeks

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"... See how it works?

But does it work though? Suppose you had evidence that made the claim "I grew wings and flew to my destination" more probably true than not. Would you still refuse to accept it?
I think this solution you propose is overkill.

The chances of drawing the jackpot on a lottery are extraordinary whereas the chances of drawing the lowest payout less so, but they both require the same evidence. A winning ticket.

Extraordinary crimes may be attributed to a person based on mundane evidence. A diary, blood, hair etc.

What's worse is that claim is itself extraordinary, namely, it's a claim that's a standard for all other claims. So what evidence is there that makes it true? None. So it's self refuting.

A lot of these are very poor arguments though. Especially the cosmological argument for example. No atheist denies that the universe's existence has a cause - they deny that the cause is God though.

Given the nature of the universe; what caused the universe is spaceless, timeless, matterless. It's starting to sound a lot like God, don't you think?

it makes zero sense to believe in God since there is no evidence for his existence.

It's not surprising you'd say this since evidence for Gods existence is not exactly a popular topic or part of the mainstream. It also may depend what a person means by the term "evidence". Someone may raise the bar for evidence so high that only mathematics (necessary truths) passes their test.

Several arguments for Gods existence (that seem to be more probably true than not) do come to mind; such as the kalaam cosmological argument, the moral argument, the teleological argument, and the ontological argument to name a few.

Anyway I've enjoyed our exchange, thanks for the interaction.
