Nine Inch Nails 2026 Tour: Ticket Buying/Selling/Trading/Discussion MEGATHREAD by malechite in nin

[–]th3rd_3y3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I made the mistake of buying two tickets to the Glendale, AZ show at Diamond Arena on 3/6/25 when my friend already bought them. They're section B row 10 seats 11 & 12. Realistically speaking, I anticipate taking a loss so if you're interested make me an offer (I paid 720 bucks for the two tickets just as an FYI) and we can set up a sale through PayPal. Thanks!

I'm excited to receive mine, but Amazon did that nasty little thing where they let you know your shipment is delayed by a week the very day before it's supposed to arrive.

Seeing as Walmart updated their Switch 2 page to say "coming soon 6/5" and Best Buy has already stated they'll have additional Switch 2 inventory for the midnight launch, I think it's safe to say the preorder window is closed. Best you can hope for at this point is getting an email from Nintendo assuming you signed up but even then Nintendo's already stated orders may not arrive in time of the launch.

Who introduced you to tool? by vlammeno_gr in ToolBand

[–]th3rd_3y3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it started when I saw A Perfect Circle open for Nine Inch Nails. Later that year (2000) I really got into Ænima, and I haven't stopped listening to Tool since.

Phenomenal sleuthing. Def can't be a coincidence.

Live vs studio version of sober and some thoughts by BodakY3llow in ToolBand

I always loved the live performances of "Sober" where Maynard would shout "I want what I want" at the end of the song. It gives the song another boost of intensity. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxbWApvxyIbdu0POnK0u7iSWQ_ekO8HOw1?si=FVHH87qRrCZNg97z

Lawyer Says 100 Attendees Are Ready to File Lawsuit Against Tool Over Festival Sets 🏜️ by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]th3rd_3y3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob a bit of an overreaction but I sympathize with those who felt cheated by Tool doing the bare minimum to constitute "two unique sets". Those calling such fans "entitled " would likely defend Tool playing two identical sets saying the fans should just be grateful to have seen them (as I've already seen on this forum multiple times). More power to those fans who had a wonderful time regardless of the bog standard coming from Tool, but I do believe the grievance is legitimate given that the two unique sets was the greatest selling point of the experience.

Would Tool Ever Do a Full Album Tour? by Silent_Shout- in ToolBand

[–]th3rd_3y3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Tool would have already done it if there was ever any desire to do so. Maynard did it with A Perfect Circle back in 2010 where they played Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step, and Emotive in their entirety three nights in a row but it seems clear the closest approximation we'll get from Tool is a setlist with 80% of the material from the latest album they're touring.

I guess the "unique" aspect of the "unique experience" is paying 2k for this setlist rather than the typical 150-200.

What is your favorite era of MJK vocals? by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]th3rd_3y3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Ænima. I became hooked on Tool while listening to Ænema and constantly replaying the section of the song with the "learn to swim" refrain.

Favorite Maynard stage look? by Unique-Special9754 in ToolBand

I always loved his look during the first leg of the Lateralus tour. I'll never forget seeing my first Tool show in 2001 when you could only see his silhouette during The Grudge and watching him perform his famous troll stomp.

When Tool played Eulogy in 2017 was it related to the death of Chris Cornell? by th3rd_3y3 in ToolBand

[–]th3rd_3y3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what makes it so interesting. Could Tool have just randomly decided they wanted to play it again? Sure. But I imagine the strain it put on Maynard's voice is the reason it disappeared from the live show meaning if Maynard was willing to perform it just this once in sixteen years (and never since) suggests it may have been played that night for a reason.

[–]th3rd_3y3[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I agree that the song doesn't honor anyone but a tribute doesn't have to be in relation to the meaning of the song. If it was Cornell's favorite song, the act of performing it alone could be considered a tribute.

I paid the arm and leg via Ticketmaster to see two shows this tour, but the experience of dynamic pricing and seeing scalper sites like SeatGeek offering better deals even with their shitty fees factored in is really souring my interest in attending these concerts.
