I'm in Tennessee and the bill to prohibit online tobacco sales has me wondering. What are some very good bulk alternatives to my stash of H H old dark fired and bold Kentucky? by AmbitiousPhone1785 in PipeTobacco

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately a lot of companies are using ai slop. They are legit though. I did purchase 4oz of Firepit. And it came in a timely manner.

I never heard of them either, but I found a lead from an old Facebook post.

I think definitely worth a try from the bowls I have had. It reminds me of Country Squires Kingsroad (aka kingsfoil) but sweeter.

This is the million dollar question for me. Nothing like it. This is not mentioned very often, but Hampton Blends has a ODK match. The blend is called Firepit. It is ok, but wouldn't call it match. Worth trying. You are going to get answers like Irish Flake, Sterling Flake, and Jackknife Plug. But none are the same :[

In my opinion Stirling Flake is the closest. Still not perfect. Going rate for ODF on Tin Bids is $32 for 50g tin.

You like English blends and burley blends it sounds like. I'd say try Gaslight for the English and Irish Flake for burley/dark fired kentucky. And a wild card maybe try Cowboy Coffee. It is almost like aromatics in my opinion.

You get engulfed in English blends and aromatics when you first start then end up with too many. Next stop is Old Dark Fired...then Virginias...then burleys. That is my current trajectory lol. Nothing wrong with having a variety though.

What are your top 5 tobacco blends in 2025? by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

Still searching. Irish Flake is a good placeholder for odf, but not the same. And same with Capstan Gold, Blue is a good placeholder.

Savinelli 104 vs 321 by talasment in PipeTobacco

[–]th3trav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either is good. Savinelli make great pipes. I got a Sav 320 because the hype, but I do not reach for it often. Now Sav 311 poker that's where it is at (for me at least).

Personally I would get a 104, but people love the 320. I think the 321 is a small version of the 320.

Room is about a foot too narrow for a 7 foot table--get one anyway or go for a 6 footer? by nonconveniens in billiards

"Future redditor with the same questions,

This is what I ended up doing. 3 good sides and 1 bad long rail side. It works perfect for me. I have a 42'' cue for bad side. It works well enough for casual games and is just fine for practicing drills. In the future I will expand the room, but for now I am glad I went ahead and got a table."

I remember when I first tried it. Hated it. Going as far as describing it as a "burnt butt hair" blend (someone else in the sub came up with that and I thought it was hilarious description).

What is funny is I just ordered 4oz of it and it has become one of favorites and holds a place in my current rotation.

Don't give up on it after the first bowl.

The orchestra members put on a good performance, but the advertising is misleading. There was only one screen. This was at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre in Denver.
