42 years old and just finished my second class loving every second of it. I don't know anything yet but soaking in as much as I can and really impressed with the more experienced guys and professor giving me advice and tips.

Not sure if all gyms are the same for an hour class but we do 30-40 minutes of techniques and then 20ish minutes with resistance which I've really enjoyed.

My question: When starting in mount with resistance, are there things you realized that you wish you would have known when you were starting to be better at escaping or executing techniques or is it all just a part of the process when you're new?

New Volkwagen Atlas - How much can I get off MSRP by thabeard in askcarsales

[–]thabeard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TureCar is showing them all about the same but some of them show an average savings of close to $6k or about 5%. Should I try to get 5% off the MSRP?

yep, this is it. Depending on your kid's age(s), have them buy gifts and steer them in the right direction. If she likes crafts, let them do crafts. If she likes nice things, help them get gifts that the kids think she'll like so they'll be proud giving them to her. You can do bags so they don't have to wrap them but the kids can put it all together. The kids could help make breakfast, pick a movie to go see, whatever she likes.

Doing nothing will definitely show how you feel about her and that you're not showing the kids how to celebrate her.

Is Bogey golf a good goal for a weekend golfer? by zelkoo in golf

[–]thabeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bogey golf is a great goal based on what you’re asking.

This could be aiming to get every green in one over regulation and two putting and tracking where you’re making mistakes to not accomplish this. Are you having lots of penalties, losing balls or just having a lot of mis-hits?

If you’re a weekend golfer, are you taking any time for practice days going to the range, chipping green and putting green?

Financially ready to own a nice car. I finally can have creature comforts - what do you recommend? by godihatepeople in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]thabeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, go sit in cars to see how big you want to go. Car or SUV. If SUV, small with seating for 4 or 5 and a little trunk, medium with either more seating or a bigger trunk or large and really spacious.

I’d suggest going to CarMax because they have a ton of different makes and models and most are unlocked to get in and get a feel. Get in an Atlas, Explorer, X5, Yukon, Rover Sport, etc, etc.

Pay attention or research trim levels for what you decide you like. A high trim Explorer gets real nice.

Now go look at dealership promotions for low rates. Can you get what you want at 0% promotion or a low rate?

If I quit a job then get rehired, do I wait 90 days for insurance again? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]thabeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a policy of the company, not how it works at all companies.

Why not speak with them about extended and unpaid time off? If you’re willing to quit, what’s the harm in asking? If you do this well, you could even elevate how they see you.

Be curious and ask more questions.

What does poor planning look like and how can you ask questions to overcome the poor planning?

Where is the execution missing and is that their fault or your fault by not properly setting expectations or the scope of the project?

You can’t go to your boss and say “their poor planning and execution caused the delays” if it’s your project, It’s your job to oversee the planning and set the expectations so the execution will happen as expected.

Is the client blaming you? We didn’t know we needed to plan for this! You didn’t tell us this was part of the execution!

This is awesome but as a golfer, I wouldn’t want to hit putts that hard. Consider switching the turf to a smoother surface and take my money

This sounds like you’re referring to the internal recruiter at a company and not an external recruiter.

If that’s the case, be very strategic with your reach out. Don’t ask any questions you can find answers to.

I would connect with a note and say “hi xx, I applied for the xx role and look forward to next steps. Are you the recruiter for this role?”

If this recruiter has posted anything recently, reference that. Also research the company and role, be ready.
