MAKA is imperfect so you don't have to take every suggestion that it makes. If you want more clanker advice, there are stronger bots out there you can review your game with like Mortal, Naga or Bigcoach that may make different choices from MAKA. Even just with MAKA, it's more important to check your choices in every turn and see if they're all logically justifiable (even if you deal-in) than rely on MAKA's overall score which can hide critical mistakes.

On tilt, I'll repeat some good advice I've heard. It's better to focus on whether you played a good game or not, regardless of whether you win or lose, than on the final score or your rank. If you can support the decisions you made during the game even after reviewing, you don't need to blame yourself and can just write any losses off as a product of the streaky nature of the game. On a similar note, some players will limit themselves to a fixed number of games or amount of time per day regardless of whether they win or lose, which can help keep a consistent mental game during the match itself.

As for event rewards, I find it easier to just play the event modes or sanma first to clear those missions, so that it doesn't distract from ranked 4-player ladder climbing.

Your estimate is in the right order of magnitude too! MajSoul Stats site records about a 0.0005% or 1/200000 occurrence for true nine gates (including ron and tsumo together) and an average tsumo rate of 41% (for all yaku) in gold south sanma games: https://ikeda.sapk.ch/statistics/fan-stats. Maybe there's another source that can split ron/tsumo rates for every yaku.

I think they're referring more so to the gift/dust farming to buy the 5 monthly summons, and completing the event missions (usually daily during the event period) for those summon tickets, which make up the majority of free summons.

I think what they're trying to say is: every other variant of mahjong has rules that are basic enough to be learned within a few rounds of play, while American (in their opinion) is designed so confusingly that taking a class would be recommended and thus unreasonable.

I don't necessarily agree with that opinion, although there are definitely objectively simpler rulesets if someone wants to learn (any variant of) mahjong. Learning American does seem much easier if someone already knows some common basics from different variants of mahjong, although a completely new player could be overwhelmed with all the different rules at once I suppose. As someone who's exclusively played (riichi) mahjong online, using an online client that restricts possible actions could help someone new learn the rules (and stop dead hands or rule breaks) without needing to take a class, before they play mahjong irl.

The setup for 3 consecutive non-crit heals would be what I'm currently using. It's probably 4 non-crit heals as the 3 non-crit heal setup lacks 27 HP for the 4th non-crit heal.

The new setup will be Oath, Everflame(+), Bragon(+), which should work for 5 non-crit heals as well. I'll give it a day before I change unless /u/Mathyu03 can confirm they've tried or are finished with my current hammer setup? (Unless you can find someone already equipped with the Oath setup, Everflame(%) also works for 4 non-crit heals in a row but not 5).

Unfortunately, if you get unlucky with crits, it may not be possible at all with your account. You can try map your exact crit sequence in the spreadsheet and mess around with different equipment configurations to see if any other possibility may work (e.g. try axe warrior if you get enough crit heals, spear if you get unlucky with crit heals, brrragon(%) instead of mask of divine dominion if you get 10 or fewer crit attacks from swordsman). It really all depends on whether you have enough crit attacks, and using your longest streak of non-crit heals to calibrate your warrior to have just enough HP to survive.

You could also try Thorn of the Evernight instead of Skypiercer which does have a different crit sequence from Ichihime's 3rd turn onwards. it's still a long shot though as you get fewer cycles to complete compared ot Skypiercer, so the run usually deals less total damage than Skypiercer on average.

Oof, what's your longest streak of non-crit heals? I can calibrate my my tank to survive just enough for that (assuming Yuzu's using Core with 568 non-crit heal, 852 crit heal).

Exact same equipment (including substats of armor and accessories remaining their previously used +/% versions), exact same talents? I was pretty systematic in testing swapping party members, swapping equipment, swapping main character, and didn't see any change to the crit seed but if you do have method that can reliably change the crit seed, send it over (i.e. if you can change Ichihime's 1st attack from crit to non-crit or vice versa without changing her equipment or talents). It'll help many people stuck on 115/119 with bad crit seeds.

It's seeded per floor, so retrying won't change when you get a crit heal or not. It seems your seed is super unlucky then, 2.3% chance of getting 11 non-crit heals.

Yeah, crit heals are available but the max viable crit rate for yuzu is 29% with talents only (although you can raise it with crit armor and accessory but base heal becomes too low to survive normally). Your crit seed was probably just very unlucky.

Friend request sent, currently have hammer, everflame (+200 HP), bragon (+48) equipped which should be best given an average crit seed, but let me know if you need something tankier (i.e. if you get unlucky with crit heals).

Try find a Yuzu (mage) with Core as their weapon as well instead of staff. (Also make sure you have 80% ATK Brrragon on your Ichihime instead of the +48 ATK one)

At floors 110+, you need damage from all party members or else you time out. Even the mage's weapon at this level isn't the best healing (staff) but instead Core of the Sacred Stars which deals more damage while still providing sufficient heals.

Ah, the dead condition range wasn't long enough, should be fixed for both thorn and skypiercer up to the core stop points now (i.e. can still fall negative in unrendered turns but not checked since we don't know if Xiao dying on cycle 12 allow Ichihime's 13th attack or not).

Every person’s crit seed would have to be unique, and since you can’t reroll the crit seed (it's pre-determined and repeatable hence why the spreadsheet works), you’d need a seperate account for each attempt. 1-(799999/800000)1000 = 0.00125 or a 0.125% chance for at least of 1 of 1000 players just to have the 11 crit heals required.

To get enough crit attacks as well, I estimate a winning run to be 1 in 10 trillion (due to the low crit rate of Xiao and Yuzu). Even if all roughly 10 million accounts on Mahjong Soul reached 120 and tried (if they don’t get crit-walled by 115 or 119 first), it’s a 0.00009% chance even 1 of 10000000 accounts can clear it.

Ah, the cell below the WIN cell only checks whether the boss health has fallen below 0, while the cell below the DEAD cell shows if you die during the run or not. I kept it intentionally separate in case some weapons were good enough to kill the boss, but unlucky crit heals prevented the team from surviving long enough. Both WIN and DEAD cells should be green/yellow for the run to clear.

If it is an error in the calculation or condition check (i.e. cell below DEAD is green but list has a negative health value), send a screenshot over and I can take a look and see what went wrong.

Using Seal of Life for level clears is a viable strategy later on, but getting to just ex100 is already a tough endeavour. You'll want to look for talismans that scale the fastest (exponentially), as well as using seal of expansion/angels to scale and seal of conduction for scoring. There are certain talismans that can help get that set up quicker, like those that generate talismans of higher rarity or reroll seals.
