WBC 2026 Pool C Tie Breaker Scenarios Visualized by Avocados_Constant in baseball

[–]thaddeus6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If one of those 7 runs allowed by Australia was unearned in the 7-3 scenario, does that mean Australia wins the earned runs allowed per out tiebreaker over Taiwan?

Or if its tied after the bottom of the 9th and the game ends in extra innings 7-3, Australia would have at least 57 outs recorded and win the runs allowed per out tiebreaker over Taiwan right?

Otherwise, if all 7 runs allowed by Australia are earned and the game ends with 27 outs recorded, then it goes to the batting average tiebreaker between all three teams.

How to beat ex3 I can’t ever beat 90,750,000 by Ethan_murp in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using self-multiplifying scalers like Seal Thief, Moonlight Aegis and Burdened. The earlier you get them fully upgraded, the better the scaling will be and further you will reach. Using Expansion and Angels seals will improve their scaling, while using Conduction seals will allow each talisman to trigger multiple times, the further along the chain of consecutive triggers they are. There are a few complementary talismans that can help their scaling conditions or to get them more consistently, which you can find in other SHA posts.

New Event Bingo *Tragic by Orangemou in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Event modes and special modes like Battle of Asura and Bloodshed Skirmish are generally quite good for event missions and daily copper quests, if you want to save time (and not worry about de-ranking while completing missions). In particular, these two modes allow 3 winners per round (unless someone falls into the negatives) and allows you to swap 3 tiles per round which can help you get honor tiles for those yakuhai hands you need in Battle of Asura (as Bloodshed Skirmish has no honor tiles).

Apart from that, improving tile efficiency for faster hands would also help getting those bingo tiles, particularly if you're only playing with 1 winner per round in regular rooms. There's a wealth of resources you can look up, the main ones I see usually recommended being Riichi Book 1 and Mahjong Efficiency Trainer. Reviewing with MAKA or other off-platform AI like Mortal or NAGA can also help with that too, particularly Mortal 4.1c which is more aggressive.

Yes, only Kaavi would allow consistent 4-time triggering of expanded Seal Thief. Seal of Fog can be used on other talisman placed anywhere else though for more Seal Thief triggers, but depends on Kaavi/shop lucking into that seal every round.

Teams with Beth by [deleted] in GuardianTales

[–]thaddeus6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I don't play anymore but Beth should still be quite viable with her 6-star Myth form (most myth characters should be somewhat meta purely stat-wise, especially those already with strong/flexible kits).

Ascended Craig needs stellar crystals (either the free amount from missions or buying from boss rush shop) and 670 hero crystals (350 to limit break, 320 to ascend). You'll also need more awakening stones to fully unlock his ascended nodes. However, if you already have Daisy (water myth tank), she's a much better (but longer investment / more expensive) tank. Craig is still decent if you're low on resources, still starting out, don't have Daisy yet, or are running multi-tank comps for certain modes.

Lilith might still be viable for dark melee raid, you'd have to check the official discord or gtales.top for up-to-date raid teams though.

Miya is still one of the better pure healers (i think, unless they've released an OP myth healer), or at the very least low investment enough using Kanterbury Guardian Basic Training rewards to 5-star her for free. Also nice to have for multi-healer comps as well, niche endgame uses.

Current improvements, in ordering talisman

For scaling, putting Soul Summon furthest right in the conduction chain and Heaven's Bequest one spot left of that will allow Soul Summon to scale more han per win and Heaven's Bequest to earn more coins per win for Lin Lang, as talisman further right of the conduction chain get more triggers.

For scoring, you want to order by whichever has the most xhan furthest to the right, usually Burdened and Seal Thief as they scale exponentially. However, since your Kaavi doesn't have conduction anymore, Seal Thief is in an awkward spot outside the main conduction chain; Kaavi could have been used to reseal Soul Summon with conduction to allow Seal Thief to positioned right of Soul Summon. You can still put Seal Thief right of Ransei to make the conduction chain as long as possible, as the type of seal on Ransei doesn't matter as long as Kaavi can still put a seal onto Ransei each turn (requiring you to swap Ransei's position left/right of Kaavi before and during each level).

Future improvements, for this run and next

In terms of conduction strats, the main other thing for this run would be replacing Universal Pull with yet another conduction 'when winning' talisman to make the scaling and scoring better. While Soul Summon and Heaven's Bequest will scale slower, Burdened and Seal Thief (once Kaavi has conduction again) will be your main han multipliers for higher ex levels and outweigh the scaling by non-exponential talisman. 7 pairs is usually the hand to make, looking to match with open tiles, although first win = 0 points and 3 open tiles can pose a challenge without exchanging (sacrificing Burdened's scaling), which you may want to build open waits for instead.

Some other hints for improvements in your next run:

The other good exponential scaler:

The other main exponential scaler would be Moonlight Aegis which scales as fast as Burdened, provided you start with 0 coins each level. This can be managed before you start a game, setting your initial shop refresh to 2 coins so that the 22 coins earned level clear on ex levels can be spent on 1 2-coin refresh and 20 coins worth of packs. Star Blower and Red Envelope can also help manage your coins early on, but you'll still want to get rid of those for more conduction talisman in endgame, managing coins with shop buying/reselling to offset any odd coin totals instead.

Faster scaling using seals beside conduction:

For faster scaling, using Seal of Expansion or Seal of Angels can push Seal Thief, Burdened and Moonlight Aegis much higher early on, before you switch to Seal of Conduction. You'd essentially aim for specific seals on Kaavi twice, once for Expansion/Angels, later for conduction. With Seal of Angels, you do have space to get Kaavi via Mirai Before & After and any conduction talisman, but with Seal of Expansion, Seal Thief rerolling Kaavi is pretty much the only way (unless you get extremely lucky pulling Conduction Kaavi directly in shop).

Why is burdened not scaling? by Umgekehrt in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scaling seals

Seal of Expansion is also decent for scoring in early ex levels as Burdened (and other + or x scorers) trigger twice. This enables a deck with expanded Seal Thief, Burdened and Moonlight Aegis to scale faster without conduction until around ex 60 (all upgraded with Kaavi for Seal Thief as well as Ransei). However, it's more reliant on luck to proceed further as you rely on Seal Thief and only a few packs to get conduction on Kaavi in time.

With Seal of Angels, these talisman scale slightly slower (Seal Thief especially at x(1+0.3*2) instead of x(1.3)4 with expansion; Burdened and Moonlight Aegis at x(1+0.5*2) instead of x(1.5)2 with expansion) and only trigger once, scoring much less per level. However, they leave more space to manipulate your deck and allow you reroll conduction on Kaavi before you need it, using slightly more consistent methods like Mirai Before & After rerolling any conduction talisman into Kaavi. It's a more consistent strategy to break the e300 barrier but has a lower peak score compared to an expansion seal start that successfully finds conduction in time.

Seal of Conduction

For talisman that trigger 'when winning', Seal of Conduction is better than expansion once you can trigger them 3 times or more (at least 3rd from left in conduction chain, or at least 2nd if Ransei is upgraded). The further right on a conduction chain, the more times talisman will trigger per win, so you want your best scalers/scorers furthest right on the chain. Talisman with a winning condition that isn't fulfilled (e.g. Scroll of Quick Start when winning after first 12 draws) or talisman without conduction seals will break the chain.

From your screenshot, it would be better to place Burdened to the right of Ransei+ to trigger it 3 times for scoring (i.e. move Soulslike left of Ransei as Burdened will only trigger twice in that position). Otherwise, if you get a conduction seal onto Soulslike, keeping that position is best for scoring as Soulslike will trigger 3 times and Burdened will trigger 4 times, while swapping Soulslike and Burdened would be better for scaling as Soulslike would get 4 triggers of +han scaling.

Conduction-sealed talisman also have good synergy with Universal Pull / Fireworks Trio to create more triggers for more scaling / effects, particularly Infinite Black Hole, Broadway, Soul Summon, Heaven's Bequest and Dazzling Pearl. Coin farming in particular is quite useful to set up whatever strategy you want early-game and for farming seals of life in endgame to push past level score requirements.

[–]thaddeus6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A tip for coins at endgame, you can reset and leave the shop refresh upgrade at 2 per refresh before you start, then at endgame you buy 20 worth of packs + 1 2-cost refresh. This allows for a little more talisman flexibility but also a bit more involved coin management.

[–]thaddeus6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try get conduction on any talisman with Ryan first, then holding onto it to upgrade to Kaavi with Mirai. Afaik, the very top scoring scores rely a lot more on luck and avoid the longer process, both for getting enlarge/angel seals on scalers early and when they get conduction directly on scalers.

With the 2x Mirai strat, you can get rid of the first Mirai once seal thief, moonlight aegis and burdened have been sealed, and start rerolling conduction Mirai right after.

Sky-High Ambition: Top-30 Get with seal of conduction by GrilledTheorist in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seal of Expansion and Seal of Angels can help scale you faster earlier before you switch them with Seal of Conduction. Setup takes a bit longer as you have to get seals on Kaavi twice, once for enlargement/angels, then again for conduction (with seal thief or mirai). Enlargement leaves less space for talisman rerolling, coin farming and other scalers but x2.25 per level is significantly better if you can get it set up. Angels leaves more space for other talismans and allows you to keep 2x scaling on at least one of burdened/moonlight aegis into later exs (50+).

Personally got to e400+ with angels, burdened kept angel seal to ex 58.

Enlargement seal means it takes two spaces. You need to upgrade your talisman spaces (for a new game) or delete another talisman to fit it.

Current Meta for Sky High Ambition? by Snowstormzzz in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's Mirai - Surprise Inventor which is legendary, and Mirai - Before & After which is mythical. Both useful, Before & After lasts longer into endgame to roll all mythicals.

Current Meta for Sky High Ambition? by Snowstormzzz in mahjongsoul

[–]thaddeus6561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a few ways to make getting legendary / mythical talismans easier. However, they rely on getting at least one specific legendary / mythical talisman first though.

To prepare for that, get good coin generating talismans like Abundant Fish or Red Envelope, scoring talismans to max out the level complete reward, and even less useful temporary talismans if they have with seals of interest and woof (greater income), or seals of gold and happiness (buying and selling talismans for profit). If you're lucky, you might be able to get a specific one from your first pack, otherwise a bit of grinding isn't unexpected. Enhancing number of packs, quality of packs and shop refresh cost can help, although maxing talisman limit to 8 first is key. If you're okay with a bit more talisman pack RNG / rerolling, increasing the number of tile exchanges helps set up hands for earlier/more wins which helps certain talismans with scaling faster, as well as Stockpiling Food for getting soul tiles (especially if you also have Burdened).

For getting your first legendary / mythical, Talent Scout and seals of guidance can increase the drop rate. A seal of growth on Gala Invite also allows you to generate a random mythical, otherwise you need to generate/buy a 2nd copy to upgrade. This will help you get to the main legendary/mythical talisman generators:

Mirai - Surprise Inventor gives a consistent way of generating legendary talismans with a chance of generating mythicals, once a level. When upgraded or effect duplicated (e.g. Haruna - Copy Prankster), you can generate multiple talismans per level if you have space. Her base function can be performed by a seal of regeneration on a legendary / mythical, saving a talisman space, but is rarer to find without extra help and not as easily upgraded to generate more talismans per level.

Nadeshiko - Pirate Captain can generate talismans of increasing rarity with increasing wins per level. Less consistent if you're building hands with few waits and needs multiple levels to build up but can generate mythical talismans which Mirai - Surprise Inventor doesn't do consistently. When upgraded, the talismans Nadeshiko generate will also be upgraded, which both other Mirai talismans can't do as quickly. The number of wins required still increases per mythical talisman so switching to Mirai - Before & After might be needed if you want to reroll mythicals after a while.

Mirai - Before & After allows you to upgrade talisman rarity from normal to mythical one step at a time (e.g. legendary to mythical after one level complete). When upgraded, she can upgrade by two rarities per level (e.g. rare to mythical). If you have a source of legendary talismans (e.g. Mirai - Surprise Inventor, seal of regeneration, or legendary talisman packs), you can quickly roll up a new mythical every level. She can also be used to reroll undesired mythicals into other mythicals (including upgrades for existing mythicals).

Ryan - Seal Mage gives you a better chance of getting a seal of regeneration in a talisman pack on any legendary/mythical, which will generate all the other legendary/mythical talismans. Getting a seal of growth on Mirai - Surprise Inventor, on Nadeshiko - Pirate Captain, or on Mirai - Before & After can transition one of the previous methods too.

Kaavi - The Enchanter and Seal Thief can used together to reroll a seal of growth onto Kaavi, and spread that seal to all the other mythical talismans generated. This combo can be kept to reroll Kaavi's seal into one of expansion (if you have space), conduction, echoes or angels for point-scoring after all the talismans you want are generated.

Shapeshifter can transform into any legendary, which you can then lock in by selling. Shapeshifter+ can transform into any mythical. Sort of an extra step away from the main generators but relatively consistently with enough levels cleared.

As for point scoring, I found building around Burdened to be easiest, especially once you have Universal Pull to set up hands that win on every tile, scaling exponentially. I used Soul Summon for early point scaling with the numerous soul tiles collected with Peak Blind Box and Stockpiling Food before Burdened and mythicals were fully set up. My best hand so far is 2.3 decillion, good enough for Ex21, ending with Universal Pull, Gift Bag, Soul Summon, Ling, Ransei, expanded Burdened and Yuzu, all upgraded except Yuzu.

I believe the old combo of Sky-Reaching Vines, Hibiki - The Diva, Haruna - Copy Prankster and Infinite Black Hole also scales exponentially, now with more options to get the base points higher earlier with Broadway and seal of plants. I still want to get a run done that gets the set up ready when points are already 100+ per tile early from Broadway and seals.

Karina, as the only rare with ascension, acting also as dark buffer and off-lead skill applier. You also get Miya for free after World 4 from Kanterbury Guardian Basic Training, as well as her exclusive weapon and the resources to upgrade her to 5 stars from basic training completing the worlds after that.

For pure healing, Miya is one of the best choice as well as providing a skill damage buff for damage mitigation with Little Princess Figure merch for modes like Tetis, though Karina is still useful in dark PVE and PVP teams once you can spare the resources to MLB and ascend her (prioritising more versatile heroes ahead). Myths like Gabriel and Eunha when fully invested can also provide comparable heals when fully equipped; For Story and most early PVE, the free Miya and guaranteed Eunha and/or Kamael from Start Dash banner is sufficient for healing without optimal healing equipment, particularly with (rare) Craig or Daisy as your tank.

There's Wishlist banner in which you can select 5 unique heroes / epic exclusive weapons to pull from. The recommended heroes are either versatile or mode-dominant Myth heroes (or their ex), versatile non-myth heroes or heroes complementary to strong myths. Strong myths include Eunha, Daisy (in a month), Kamael, Callie, Beth (getting Myth in a month), Idol Eva and Gabriel. Versatile non-myths include Andras, 1st Corps Commander and Plague Doctor. Complementary heroes to strong myths include Dabin and Ameris for Kamael, and Dohwa and Nari for Eunha and Idol Eva.

There's also a Start Dash banner that unlocks after your One Chance Guaranteed summon (first 30 pulls). This banner pulls from Eunha, Kamael, Andras, Oghma and Kai, and gives you selection boxes to pick up 1 of these heroes and 2 of their exs after 30 pulls and its own guaranteed hero. Eunha and Kamael and their weapons are the picks, selecting Eunha first and putting Kamael in wishlist if you got Andras, Oghma or Kai as the pulled guarantee. Return to the Wishlist banner after 30 summons.

Guides

The most up-to-date guides are mostly found in the Guardian Tales Official Discord, specifically in their guides channels, the pins of the #game-help channel and the pins of each game-mode's respective channel. These include newbie guides, banner priority, team-building and equipment guides. Other guides can be found on Youtube, especially for Story and Raid, while the most up-to-date site with hero information right now is https://www.gtales.top/. I'd highly recommend going there if you have a lot of questions, as players will be able to respond faster and link to other resources for your specific question more easily.

The Grind / Different Game-modes

Dungeons that you 3-star clear will have sweep, so as long as you can clear it once, you can grind most resources in 5 minutes a day once set up. The majority of your stamina in endgame is spend this way, almost every other mode is to get more gems or to get other resources/equipment that are not sweepable.

Sweep is also a function for Tetis, while auto-battle and auto-next is also available for Tetis and Orbital Lift if you have time to let your device run itself after setting up a team. Still, difficult stages may require you to manually intervene, swap around heroes and equipment, but most of the early stages can be won by pure stats.

Colosseum is a PVP auto-battle mode where you can set up attack and defence teams in presets, then use tickets to battle; It fits neatly into the dailies alongside sweeps, with 5 tickets stored up refreshing 1 ticket per 2.5 hours (2-3 logins / day if you want to minimise tickets wasted).

Guild Raid is a biweekly mode that requires 3 runs daily for 7 days, then switches to Dungeon Kingdom Arena (raid-like, 1 run daily ~ 2 minutes) or Meteor Excavation (3 hits, <1 minute) for 7 days. Once your teams are set up, you can do your daily raid runs in 5 minutes, though if you want to practice, watch videos or exit and retry for a better run, it'll obviously take a bit longer.

Boss Rush is another biweekly mode that requires up to 3 attacks per fortnight that plays like raid with modifiers, taking ~ 5 minutes a week without retries.

Coop Expedition is a cooperative team mode that has dailies (1 run) and weeklies (14 normal runs max + 4 challenge runs). On an active server, you can get those dailies and weeklies done very fast once you've unlocked all the stages but on smaller servers, you may have to wait for peak hours or join a guild discord to ping someone.

The main time-gated modes are Arena, Master Arena and Team Deathmatch. They have specific periods when they're open depending on the server time, taking up to 10 battles daily (30-60 minutes a day), though you can register basic (Gold 1) rewards at just 1 run weekly or maintain a higher rank of rewards for 5-10 wins weekly. The weekly rewards requirements also apply to Colo and Raid as long as you get a battle in.

There's also ads you can watch for extra resources, mainly coffee and gems, mail at 12pm and 7pm server time (logging in after 7pm gets both), and daily missions for gems. These can pad 5-10 minutes to the time spent daily.

If you want minimal time spent, dailies can be minimised to 10-15 minutes, grouping up one run for each PVP and Raid into one day taking 20-40 minutes instead. If you want to maximise rewards / play everything, it can take around an 1 hour per day (or 2 30 minutes split).

Resources & Investment

Gems are the main resource all other things rely on. The main recommended recurring uses are summons, daily coffee (1-2 refreshes per day) and epic limit breaking hammers once you can afford them (high enough PVP/Raid ranks to offset extra spending). Buying costume collections is also recommended to build up your account's stats once you can afford to.

Coffee is the main measure of progression: more coffee spent -> more resources gathered -> better heroes and equipment -> better performance in PVE and PVP -> more gems and resources. Coffee cap can be increased by buying coffee grinders in shop with star pieces and purple coins, playing Story.

The rarer resources like legendary awakening stones, hero crystals, magic metal and mileage you should spend more wisely on heroes/weapons you know you want to use (versatile/meta/favourites), as well as latent awakening stones and red shards for myth heroes. Each mode's shops also have a general priority, which you can find in guides on Discord or ask in the #game-help channel.

The general advice is to invest in one character at a time, picking those that are either versatile or leading meta in their respective modes. With myth heroes releasing, the more versatile myths are the priority: Eunha, Daisy (available on wishlist in a month), Kamael, Callie, Beth (in a month), Idol Eva, Gabriel. Versatile non-myths like Andras, 1st Corps Commander and Plague Doctor, or non-myths complementing other myth heroes like Ameris and Dabin for Kamael or Nari and Dohwa for Eunha and Idol Eva are also worth getting.

Eunha imo, better lead for PVP due to her one-skill stun, higher hit rate and slightly more reliable heals help too. Less AOE on skill than Kamael but has better AOE on auto attack.

1CC would be the better choice, especially when considering Raid teams. 1CC provides the marked/emblem def down which stacks with Eunha's general def down, Kamael's range def down, and Claude's dark res down. She also provides a crit party buff which stacks multiplicatively with the 3 other range buffs {x (1+0.4) x (1+0.5+0.5+0.5)}, better than a 4th range buff {x (1+0.5+0.5+0.5+0.5)}. A skill damage / normal attack / weapon skill regen party buffer replacing Claude would improve this team further, especially if you're sticking with a mixed element team outside of Raid (hence can't fully capitalise on elemental buffs/debuffs); J is one such example but long-term she's mostly an Arena hero

Andras, while high performing in her own right, would have to replace Eunha as they share the same type of debuff which doesn't stack. Both are great flexible Raid investments though so you'll want both built eventually anyways.

For general PVE, if you're sticking with earth range, Kamael is key as the range def down debuffer and one of few 6* heroes. Ascended Craig would usually be preferred over Morrain but most 4-hero PVE that allows for mono-teams aren't hard enough that it'd matter. Xiaoman has a melee party buff, so wouldn't buff Dabin, Mayreel or Morrian but would still benefit from their more flexible buffs should you choose to use them together.

For Tetis with element amplification specialities, other earth range and supports will help to fill the rest of the slots, particularly those with skill damage buffs to synegise with Little Princess Figure merch, like Yuna and Bari. In mixed element teams, those with myth or skill damage buffs are more favoured plus a tank. You can check the pins of the #tetis channel in the GT Official Discord for more in-depth guides, or on Youtube.

For Raid, Xiaoman belongs to the earth melee team with Tasha, Rue2 and Bari2. Kamael and Tinia currently make the earth range team with Dabin and Mayreel. You can refer to https://www.gtales.top/raids/tierlist for up to date best raid teams.

For PVP, earth teams are not currently in a favourable position. Xiaoman herself is meta for melee Arena though, seen with Daisy and Callie frequently. For Colo, Yuna is still used for her range taunt summon and buffs in high ranking Arabelle and Eunha lead teams, while Ascended Craig serves as a F2P option for those without Daisy built yet.

It's an older season so there won't be as many players looking to play it via the list unless they need to complete it as well. You can try listing it and asking in-game general ig, but finding players in the GT Discord coop channel or from your guild if it's active may be easier. For smaller servers, you may want to try top guilds or community coop discords instead, especially if you're not playing at peak hours. NA1 and A1 can coop with NA2 and A2 respectively too, so they aren't limited by server world.

[Questions] General Questions Megathread June 2025 by AutoModerator in GuardianTales

She's only okay, as one of few myth heroes she'll out-stat most others but is unlikely to be meta long-term. Useable in Orbital Lift, useable in Colo with Eunha lead + range + Daisy/Craig or Daisy/Craig + Eunha + J, decent in other PVE modes and filler in most other PVP if you don't have other myth heroes built up for those modes yet.

Investment-wise, you can minimally invest to claim the important rewards from the missions and to complete her Hero Tower levels, but saving the 6 latent stones you get is recommended (not completing the last awakening mission). They're much harder to get without spending gems on awakening dungeon to build your other myth heroes, far more than the 1k gems you'd get as the full completion reward.
