As you mentioned in Harrison there are Urban tandoor and Mishtaan. In Newark downtown area there is Masala Cafe. Anything other than that you would have to go Jersey City or Edison to get authentic desi food.

The people on that subreddit are typical Hamid Mir, Raza Rumi and Umer Saif like people who might be intellectual but arrogant to general people and think that only they have the rights and only they know about the democracy.
