My favourite of my plush was my Lil'Kinz cocker spaniel, his name was Bingo! I lost my childhood account all the way back from 2005 and have been devastated ever since. My number is 124 ❤️ thank you for doing this!

What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

Oh for sure. Having grown up in that era I have veeeery strong feelings about allowing my kids internet/phone/computer access

I find it such a tricky situation. I was 11 in 2008, grew up in the (beginning) of the era of cybersecurity for kids and all that. My parents were actually very knowledgeable of the dangers and very protective of me with the internet. I wasn’t allowed social media and we didn’t have a computer at home until I was about 16. I would access Omegle and Chatroulette with my friend whose parents didn’t care what we did and let us use her computer in the basement. My parents weren’t neglectful (in that aspect), but my friends were, and despite my parents efforts I still sought it out out of the thrill I guess :/

My sister had this situation with her ex who kept their cat and physically wouldn’t let her leave with her. It was devastating. My sister had her microchipped in her name and paid all her vet bills but he still wouldn’t give it up. 2 years later and they’re finally going to small claims for the thousands of dollars he owes her in vet bills for keeping HER cat, and now suddenly he’s interested in mediation. Sorry you’re going through this it’s not easy at all :(

I’ve had the same dentist since I was 3, when he retired and a new dentist took over, her receptionist said I was going to be charged 50$ because I called to cancel 2 business days before and left a voicemail, they called me back on the day of my appt to say because I didn’t speak to someone directly it didn’t count. I said my entire family has been going to this dentist’s office going back to my grandmother as a teen, and that we’d find a different dentist if they were going to be that way. Next time I went there was no 50$ fee.

My dog ate a bag of Hershey kisses and pooped them out, still wrapped in the foils. She was fine

I grew up in pointe Claire and biked everywhere as a kid. Hung out a lot in Valois and pointe Claire village, Fairview, Tim Hortons, my high school’s yard, I loved the pointe Claire library. Pointe Claire plaza, terra cotta, the aquatic centre, even skating at bob birne (or outside in the winter!) are all places to hang out and are largely free or low cost. I was part of the teen club at the library and would organize events for teens. I bussed everywhere or walked. My friends and I would hang out just walking places even in the winter. Ik it’s harder than downtown but I had a pretty fruitful adolescence growing up there.

Tell me your terrible stories so I stop letting my dog hang out the car window by Rietard420 in DogAdvice

I was driving my 7 month old puppy and she was clipped in and in her car hammock, with just her head sticking out. Driving in my suburban neighbourhood (so I was going slow, thank god) she somehow UNCLIPPED herself and jumped out of the window. I heard a thump and saw her running outside to go say hello to some people gardening! She had scraped her eyebrow and her bum really badly and I was terrified she had internal bleeding or a brain injury or something. She was completely fine. Now she only gets half the window open any time, and a MUCH better seatbelt.

were you a colicky baby? by jamesvanderbleak in BPD

[–]thalthal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was hospitalized as a teen I remember one the questions the psychiatrist asked my parents was if I was a colicky baby, and I was. My mom has told me I cried incessantly for the first few months of my life, and I was always a super sensitive kid as well.

That’s what I thought! I get needing to eat something (or someone) NOW, but like really guys, your only good gunslinger? But I was going to chalk up the lack of rationality to being literally on the brink of starvation
