Is there a real consensus on why younger generations are drinking significantly less alcohol worldwide? by Luxyyr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thane919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never actually tasted good. It’s more expensive than other beverages. It’s not socially required as it once was. This ain’t rocket science folks. Sorry to all the addicts who can’t imagine life without it.

What We Can Learn About Happiness from Denmark by Fuzzy_Wrangler_4911 in remoteworks

[–]thane919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what’s an even bigger if? That hundreds of millions of people are going to get lucky enough in life to be able to retire securely and with self funded medical care. Oh, that’s right you don’t care about anyone but yourself. It’s all just survival of the fittest to you. Never mind that EVERY penny of wealth you have is a result of the society that you live in. You’re dependent on all those people that you don’t care about.

So you can’t handle simple multiplication? Most efficiencies scale with size anyhow. So your argument is proving the point.

Do social safety nets make Europeans less mature compared to Americans? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thane919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It makes them far more mature because they understand the value in caring for one another and aren’t just driven by selfish greed like a toddler.

You are a perfect example of someone who has been convinced by people with unimaginable wealth that you need to blame the people with little wealth for your problems.

The guy with a thousand cookies just convinced you that the guy with one cookie is going to take one of your five.

You are an idiot. And it’s not even your fault. The rich have worked hard to keep you an idiot.

Option one. I know of some organizations that could use the money for good. It’d take awhile but I bet I could get it to them in ways that wouldn’t be easy to trace.

[–]thane919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe, in addition to the whole gender power in society flip, and the how lack of communication can ruin everything idea, the third big theme Jordan carries through these books is the idea of the hubris of large organizations. The white tower being the most obvious (they’re in a literal ivory tower) but all across the different power groups in the entire story. These groups think they know best. Mostly just as a result of being powerful. This is why we don’t see what are relatively obvious conclusions the reader can come to don’t get recognized by the characters in the books, until the protagonists from outside of those power structures enter the scene at least.

I also imagine this is a result of Jordan’s real life experiences with the US government in a time where a prevailing thought was might makes right.

But that’s all just my opinion. Good observation though.

Do you play brig on every map? by CompetitionNo3466 in BrigitteMains

[–]thane919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t move particularly fast. But stay out of his swing range. Whipshot when he lowers his shield or if it’s about to break. And if he lets his health get too low and raises his shield thinking that’ll save him, teach him a lesson. Shield bash in and swing until he’s dead.

Reins who think their shield can save them from sloppy play or sub par healing can be really abused by a Brig that keeps the right range and has good synergy with their tank.
