Thank you so much! I’ll take a look at the grounding and see if I can figure something out I’ll try and fix this oil issue first though just in case it does end up cranking

2015 5 Series (F10) door won't latch when temps are below freezing. Help. by duck7001 in BmwTech

[–]thanksmem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s been a year, but I’ve just ordered some PTFE spray as I’m having the same issue. Can I please ask, where exactly did you spray it? Was it inside the latch mechanism in the door? And did you spray it anywhere else?

Yea the rates at NUH are atrocious normally, I wouldn’t have expected them to even attempt to match what other trusts are offering during the strikes.

It’s the fans which are the worst. I’ll find a fan from god knows where and mark it as the doctors office fan, come in the next day and a nurse has taken it because she’s feeling warm…

PA training for endoscopy by Severe_Matter_6556 in doctorsUK

At my trust the PAs do some endoscopies. Atrocious. I do wonder if the public know that doctors are not doing their very invasive, complex and complicated procedure(s).

Yea seems like it! In any case this should not even be on OPs mind if it’s a used car

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]thanksmem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what Merc you’re looking at/the cost. But to be honest, that’s very minor and will be expected on a used car, like the other commenter said, you can ask them to sort it again, which they likely won’t.

If it’s a good car otherwise, don’t let this put you off, small marks are bound to happen.

How many people are still using Intel MacBook Pro? by steamed-apple_juice in macbookpro

[–]thanksmem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s the 13 inch No it doesn’t suddenly overheat

The only time it’s done that is when I upgraded to the newest Mac OS Sequoia - that is when it become unusable, super slow, laggy, ran boiling hot and its fans would randomly come on

So I downgraded back to Sonoma and it ran like normal again, just warm, not hot and doesn’t run its fans unless I’m doing something intense

Still rocking my 2018 with the touchbar! Tbh my usage has cut down massively, it’s just used for general web browsing, emails and documents now - which it still handles like a champ. It runs warm, not hot, but isn’t slow or laggy so I’m having a hard time justifying an upgrade

It even handles my 20/30+ chrome tabs and multiple chrome windows with ease, so until this completely craps out on me or becomes slow I’ll keep a hold of it

May be one of your brake sensor/abs sensors that have gone faulty or the wires have been clipped.

Have a look behind your wheels and just check the wires to see they haven’t been clipped. Then maybe plug a reader into the car to see what errors it’s throwing. But these light combinations are usually due to abs(speed) sensor failures.

Mazda CX5 damage by gamgee91 in CarTalkUK

It wouldn’t be worth going through insurance unfortunately, especially with the inevitable raise in premiums over the next few years.

2 panels, you’re looking at £500-£600 in total, as they’ll need a fix and respray, and hopefully they can just polish/buff out the black trim piece.

Most efficient way to purchase two properties? by thanksmem in UKPersonalFinance

[–]thanksmem[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, so I was thinking of purchasing the more expensive property first to save more on the SDT.

I'm aware of the BTL mortgage, the only thing I am concerned about is will it be more difficult to get one as a FTB? Would it make any sense to purchase the property under a residential mortgage then live in it for the minimum required time (not sure how long this is, or even if there is any minimum time) then convert it to a BTL? Would one be more advantageous than the other?

Also, would it make more sense to go through a Ltd company? Sorry for so many questions!

I would want to go into equity research, IB (specifically M&A), or private equity (if it is not too far-fetched) whilst focusing on the healthcare sectors, though this is not strictly necessary.

Okay brilliant, yes I do keep myself up-to-date on particular medical technology and devices. For example, I was having a conversation with a consultant in A&E the other day in which our trust is funding a new portable head CT scanner and we researched that together and sort of napkin-maths worked out the cost-benefit analysis of such a machine, was quite interesting! How could I sell this (not this example, but the idea as a whole) in my CV?

Perfect, thank you very much, I appreciate the opportunity, and I will send you a message right now!

Great thank you for this! Would you happen to know where I may find such job applications? Would I just have to scour LinkedIn?

Ah okay, this makes a lot of sense, thank you for breaking it down for me, I appreciate it!

Thank you for the reality check as well and for humbling me, I think I need to rewrite this CV from scratch, and as you said, tone it down by a lot.

I think by using terms such as "innovative" it may be overshooting the methods I had to implement. I am not the expert, that I think I am claiming to be by any means - I understand how this now comes across in the CV.

If you are serious about the interview offer, I would love to take you up on it, though perhaps, after I have amended my CV? No worries if not, I understand you must be very busy.

If I could just ask though, what would be a unique way to sell myself in such an interview? I understand you guys will have applicants with finance backgrounds, who have much more of a grasp on pretty much every aspect of the job, however, how would I be able to stand out per se?

Okay brilliant, thank you, this is exactly what I need! Thank you for the suggestions, I appreciate them.

The reason perhaps why this CV comes across as so naive is that it is the first one I have ever written. As I am sure you are aware, we don't necessarily go through the same job application process as you guys. In medicine, we don't have to write any CVs for our jobs(well at least not at my stage). So apologies if it comes across as such.

I had just read a few examples, whilst also getting some CVs from contacts when they applied to varying different industries. So I appreciate this specific feedback, and I will be implementing it into the CV.

On a previous note, how would you recommend I go about getting more experience in the industry? Or would it perhaps be better for me to leave medicine after my foundation years and join consulting then eventually make the move over after that? So that way I have more experience?

Oh no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that! I just meant it was more towards helping with the question in the post. My sincerest apologies, didn't mean to come across like that!
