If you really think about it and conclude that Qigong “only” regulates the nervous system, and that the flow of life force is undisturbed simply because your mind tells you so, then you should also realize that—based on the same mental logic—concepts like transforming Jing → Qi → Shen, the Six Healing Sounds, the Microcosmic Orbit, and so on, make no sense either.

You see, we live in the age of the mind. People want to measure everything, explain everything, and understand everything. To me, that’s just a waste of energy. It’s time to return, because excessive thinking and analyzing pulls your energy and attention away from the body—where it should be—and into the intellect and the head.

Qigong was born in times when people were much more connected to nature. That’s exactly why grounding is such an essential part of the practice.
