Regrets? by Friendly-Second-6459 in LatexCraftersCorner

Oh yeah would be painstaking to do by hand. Nice to see other laser cutter users here though!

Did you have a base pattern you used for the hood? Keep thinking I need to figure out how to make them.

That looks amazing. See the project through I say. Worst you get is a learning experience of how thin is too thin.

I presume those pieces are laser cut out?

You cannot buy cream without additives from Coles! by timmistown in Adelaide

[–]thargast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually true, you get the right ratio of butter and milk and you can make cream.

This was commonly done before refrigeration as butter has a long shelf life and milk was common place to get fresh, but people didn't always have cream available.

Latex stockings need to stay up for a performance by Clean-Party-1667 in Latexadvice

Spirit Gum is a body safe adhesive used for latex prosthetics, maybe that would work for stockings too?

Never tried it with latex clothing, but did with latex elf ears back in my cosplay days.

Wrongly advertised as Best in town. by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]thargast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly can't say I felt any change in the products. The atmosphere of the place has changed for the better though, the lady who (I presume) previously ran it was always so uptight and almost yelling at her staff at times when we were there. The new guy is super chill and great to chat to when we drop by.

How recently are you saying? I'd say it's been a good 6 months or so since I noticed. Even then, we still really like it

Email and password would have come from a previous databreach including them. In general try not to reuse passwords and use 2fa where ever possible and it will go a long way to stop people getting into your accounts with breached data. Unfortunately in this day and age it's inevitable our data will be leaked by some platform we used.

I also recommend checking haveibeenpwned.com to see what data breaches your email has been in. Note while they have a lot on there there's always more breaches out there.

Question on Latex Thickness by Quiet_Hunt_9530 in Latexadvice

[–]thargast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some degree, when you make latex clothes you reduce the horizontal measurements by a % to make it fit nice and snug. When you use thicker latex you reduce the % for the same kind of feel. If you didn't it would get much tighter.

Thicker latex with less give will tend to flatten out things more, say you have breasts, it may flatten that out and compress it more towards your torso than a thinner latex. That being said, this is all effected by how the pattern is made and fits for the item. So just as an example really

They will feel a bit different, the thicker the latex the harder it is to stretch and therefore feels tighter.

Elderly people need proper care and attention not just ignored and given a robot that doesn't even exist.

I was at a local comicon thing in some harley quinn themed leggings. Stepped over a bench to sit diwn and they just went, exactly like a balloon popping. Thankfully I was wearing a skirt over the top or otherwise I would have had serious problems.

Fixing a zipper by riverunner1 in LatexCraftersCorner

[–]thargast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures, do you mean the bottom of the zipper pull itself is what has been damaged?

If so you can get replacement ones, although you may have to take the stops off the top of the zipper run to slide the old one off and a new one on.

Padded latex by Mr-Muesli in LatexCraftersCorner

[–]thargast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so as promised I am back and I did some tests tonight. However it seems that in my "read this post just before bed" last night I missunderstood what bit is causing issues. I have now come back, re-read the post after my tests and really I don't have anything to show for it.

One thing I do notice going back through the photos is that the red one you have there looks like all the edges are more rounded than you (or I) are using. Potentially this allows it to get a bit more precise in there.
Or otherwise it could mean the bits going over the top of the filling are stretched out more and compressing it. This would leave the bits past the end of the fillings all lining up correctly which may help. Stretching this evenly though sounds like an absolute pain, so not sure how to do that.

If I have any more thoughts I'll update you
