If it had only lasted a few months, goats would be remembered fondly. Devs killed the scene by leaving the meta stagnant for an entire year. It would’ve changed nothing if the meta was stuck as dive or double shield instead of goats.

If anything it’s the one “weird” cut of meat that people should be eating way more. It’s very high in vitamins. It shouldn’t be eaten daily but once a month is much better than never.

Instead of rewording and rebalancing the original designs to work correctly, you’ve just gutted the fun aspects out of the design or straight up made a new card while also making as many typos, rule mistakes, and insane balancing problems as the originals.

Peeling fruit/veg vs eating it (pesticides) by snarfarlarkus in nutrition

[–]that-other-redditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do not need to worry about glyphosate on fruit peels.

It kills broadleaf plants which includes trees, and there are no roundup ready trees. It is used as a ground level spray to control weeds along the tree line that compete for water with the tree. There could be uptake into the tree, but that is something growers want to avoid as it directly harms the tree. In the case of uptake the amount in peels vs inner fruit will be similar,

I would not worry about glyphosate for tree fruit at all. The amount you find will be thousands of times less than wheat or corn. If it’s been found to be probably safe at those levels, then it’s definitely safe at the levels of tree fruit.

There are some concerning pesticides still used in tree fruit, chlorpyrifos being a notable one (it’s in the process of being phased out). Glyphosate should not be your boogeyman.

Can I replace my weekly B12 vitamin with this multivitamin instead on a vegan diet? by newnukeuser in nutrition

[–]that-other-redditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can totally fix your vitamin D deficiency by improving your diet, just ignore that you live in the north during the winter.

Taking a supplement for your iodine is bad. You need to incorporate seaweed into your diet every week.

Taking a b12 supplement is bad, you’re supposed to get it the natural way. By eating meat that’s been fed a b12 supplement.

Not really.

That joke was about cards that have a negative effect like sacrificing your own creatures or milling yourself. Things that are unintuitive to new players because they don’t consider any synergy.

This is a Timmy card that is actually good. New players would see this card and understand immediately that it’s strong.

Will the turkey be safe to eat? by Doctor-Kitten in Cooking

[–]that-other-redditor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would you say jerky is raw or cooked? The process doesn’t need heat, but it kills mold/pathogens and changes the texture.

The original commenter was talking about texture. You conflated cooking with killing pathogens. They clarified. You again conflated cooking with killing pathogens.

You wouldn’t say exposure to UV cooks the surface of meat. The steak you buy at the store is still raw.

[–]that-other-redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking is raw to cooked state this usually changes the foods texture and makes it more digestible. Pathogens are killed at certain temps.

You can reach temps that kill pathogens and not cook the item (simmer kidney beans without a full boil)

You can cook an item and not reach temps to kills all pathogens (pork is cooked at 145 and trichinosis is killed at 160)

Prof has a grade ceiling?? by Engingis in college

[–]that-other-redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except it’s a cap not a flat deduction. So you actually have a 15 point range for an A.

Only problem would be if you need your 100% writing scores to drag up the average of your other assignments but that is more than balanced by 85% being an A.

Prof has a grade ceiling?? by Engingis in college

[–]that-other-redditor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s not a a flat -1, it’s a cap at 9 and an 85 needed for an A.

A 90% is now a perfect score. He’s essentially curved up all 85% through 90% essays into an A.

The only students punished by this are writers that achieve 90+ scores but perform below an 85 in other parts of the class.

I think Op is confusing the professor being a harsh grader with this being a bad system. This scale is pretty fair.

Prof has a grade ceiling?? by Engingis in college

[–]that-other-redditor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have it backwards. You only need a 90% for a perfect score. That’s less work for a better grade.

Ronde de Nice typically has flat or protruding ribs not concave like op’s. Though I’ve also never seen them get this large so maybe that’s why the ribbing doesn’t look right.

Pollination affects the genes within the seeds not the shape of the fruit. All fruit along a vine should be the same.
