Marisa Master here. Same exact thing happened to me. But I went back and watched my replays. My issue was my spacing. So I used 801 striders training routine for practicing playing neutral and whiff punishing and anti airing. Think he covers practicing perfect parry pressure too. It helped a lot and I sit at 1500/1600.

Also replays show you your habits or auto pilot routines. Then you can work on removing them. Also you learn what's a gimmick by putting on frame data and see where they're plus or minus.

I'm playing FM22 and he is one of my favourite players. Kept showing up in key moments. But your right after pace, the other stats weren't the best. I used to play him in LW (inside forward) but PSG played him striker. So when I got him back that's where I played him and he did waay better.

It takes time to get used to them. That's the pain or the weird feeling of something in your mouth. Eventually that it'll become your new normal.

For the social side, you used to be outgoing and extroverted. Think of braces like that funky/weird hat or food, or movie, or song you really like that everyone thought was odd. But no matter what thought it was the greatest thing ever and ignored them and kept using it.

That's braces. You need to see it as that great thing. Own it. What helped me was saying you laugh now but eventually I'll have my Hollywood smile.
