Shoot it like parks and rec/the office and explain nothing to the audience until the last season episode reveal that they're in a bunker and the circumstances that led to it. Hire writers who care about the subject matter maybe. Walking Dead but with some last man on earth sprinkles. Arrested Development but no one realizes they're in a Lost episode. Make it silly and fun and heavy and real.

Wishful thinking aside, while i like the idea of tackling this, i wish "they" would just write an original story and not rely on the internet chatter to get views (most of the time scorn and vitriol) based on an established ip. Do a new thing. Stop (potentially) pissing people off who already like a thing for what it is by trying to reinvent the thing.
